by Kat C. on I've been here on 2 different Thursdays for GNOs and of course had a fun time with hilarious "OMG DO YOU REMEMBER..." stories to tell in the morning. Being in a big group of glammed-up girls, it was easy and free to get in, but I think that's only because a friend was tight with a promoter. If you're not with a party bus, willing to wait in a long line, or pay a pretty pricey cover from what I hear, or basically not the Hollywood type of partier, this place probably isn't for you. Once inside tho, you'll have fun dancing to electro/house music downstairs...if you can find an open space or on the same drunk level as everyone around you so that you don't care about being bumped into constantly, chill by the bar, or dance to hip-hop upstairs. The hip-hop room was pretty empty most the time, so it's good for breaks from the craziness downstairs. I took off a star mainly because I've run into some of the biggest creepers and douches while here. Ya I understand clubs take guys who buy tables and bottles, but the ones here thought they were the ish and were just disgusting (mainly the older dudes that should be married by now, but probably scare away anyone that might like them). It's fine if you offer me a drink, but don't grab and pull me into your booth like I said I want you. Ran into some guys that wouldn't take a straight up "NO, leave us alone" for an answer also. That ish gets tiringggg to get out of. I'm just tryna have fun with my girls and I'll talk to you if you're a gentleman. Overall, if you want a spot to have fun dancing and schmoozing and experience feeling Hollywood "bourgsie" all dressed up for a night, then this is it.
by Bonnie M. on There must be something magical in the black and tans. I had 3 last night-they were so yummy they tasted like dessert. By the end of the night I was content and not as drunk as one would expect a lightweight like me to be after 3 full pints. But then fast forward to this morning and the $25.00 necklace found in my purse that I bought there last night made out of dried fruit and glitter.
by Pat Bramlett on I saw Sia here tonight and show was brilliant ('cos she & her band are d'uh!). The venue itself is very old-skool in a Fillmore kinda way, but smaller with sitdown access in the main room. Lots of red and velourish decor and the drinks are your standard fare. I wished they had food tonite, 'cos I was hungry after work for the 8pm show. Bimbos gets Very Large Props (tm) for booking Sia! Then after the show on the way out, I spotted posters of more of my favourite artists: Miriam & Amadou, this amazing blind couple from Mali, are going to be playing here in late April!! My respect for them booking such amazing musicians then proceeded to go through the roof. 5 stars!!!
