This place is a blast. It's like watching a david copperfield. You know ahead of time you shouldn't believe what's in front of your eyes, but it's pulled off so masterfully you can't help but be impressed. Went here with 5 friends for no special occasion other than to just do something fun. This place tends to be pretty popular for birthdays, bachelorette parties, and it was even one couple's anniversary as well. You can call in advance and they'll print out personalized menus for each party. Pretty cool. The gender illusionists (GIs) are very friendly and all of them serve as waitresses in addition to lip-syncing and dancing on the bar (which happens every hour). It's true, they're hot. The food was good but I didn't end up eating a whole lot due to some stomach issues. What I did have was very tasty though. It's a fixed price menu and everyone picks an appetizer, entree, and dessert to be shared family style. One member of our party was a bit uptight about coming here and was intent on not having a good time. By the end of the night he had come around and we all agreed this place was a good decision. Enjoy!

We stumbled into this place while looking for something to eat before seeing Carrie Fisher's Show "Wishful Drinking". My first impressions were great.  The place is nicely decorated making you feel like you are in some kind of Mexican plaza.  The bar is nicely designed with plenty of room, counter space for patrons and standing area.  We were greeted and taken to our seats right away.  It was early on a Friday evening so there was plenty of space and tables to choose from. After we sat, I made an order of Corona beer which was served nicely chilled.  The wine and drink selection was pretty good.  We started with the homemade guacamole.  A cart rolled next to us and a nice show started where the guacamole was freshly made and we enjoyed every bite of it.  Meanwhile, I ordered the chicken taquitos to start with.  They came shortly thereafter and they were nicely cooked with great taste. Now, this is the only drawback.  Our main course took a looooong time to get. Seriously, it took almost 45 minutes to get the main course.  Then, my chicken burrito arrived as well as my partner's beef burrito.  His was nicely cooked but mine was a little cold.  It could have been served much warmer.  However, it was still enjoyable and I ate all of it.  Dessert was served which we ordered a flan to share.  It was very good and delicious. The place also has a dance club in the basement.  I went to use the bathroom and I ran into this place which had all the typical makes of a dance club and bar.  Bouncer and security met you at the dance club door and looked quite intimidating.  The bathroom was not as clean as it was shared with club and restaurant patrons. We sat at the bar for one more drink before showtime.  Bar was great and service attentive.  We would come back to try more items in the menu and have of some more of that delicious guacamole! The Final Verdict: Ambiance/Decor:  5.0 out of 5.0 Staff Service/friendliness : 5.0 out of 5.0 Seating Arrangement/Layout:  4.5 out of 5.0 Seating Comfort:  4.5 out of 5.0 Food Quality/Flavor:  4.0 out of 5.0 Wine/Alcohol Selection/taste:  5.0 out of 5.0 Price Value:  4.5 out of 5.0 Bathrooms Cleanliness:  2.0 out of 5.0 Final Score:   34.5 out of 40  (86 out of 100% or B Grade) Final Comment:  Nice place, good food and drinks makes this place one that will become a fave for good Mexican food and, if in the mood, dance to Latin music.

I'm giving 2 stars because the food is admittedly decent. But truthfully, I found it greasier than the food from Lucky Wah, a take-out place down the road. I've never really been a fan of Golden Temple. I think it's overpriced for what it is. Yes, I realize it's organic, and I support that. But the service almost always seems rude and really, it doesn't feel any healthier to me than my local take-out place. A group of 5 of us went there on Saturday. At the outset, we asked if the bill could be split 2 ways (3 on 1, 2 on the other). They absolutely refused. One of my friends asked if the onions in her Tempura dish could be replaced with more of the other veggies as she's not an onion person. The waiter automatically responded that she couldn't have anything more but that they could take out the onions. So let me see, we get to pay the same price for less? Fantastic! Next, we noticed that the menu clearly requests that in exchange for their courteous service, relaxed atmosphere and "healthy food", each person at the table is asked to spend $24.95. Not for nothing, but that is not their call. Granted, the over inflated prices make that easy to do. But they have no right to tell me what to spend. Overall, I just wasn't impressed. The food is fine. I'm not blown away. But I highly doubt I would willingly go back.
