when: friday/saturday nights My first few times here were great. Cover's only $10 after 10p. Drinks werent too expensive--beers were about $6 each and I think Patron shots were about $10, give or take. I came here for a birthday three times. You can reserve a table for your birthday for free in the main area. If you wanted bottle service, they would block off the room between the main bar area and the dance floor that's to the side. I found the bottle service area to be very cozy and appropriate for a gathering. Very little disturbances from other party go-ers, and if you wanted to join them, just walk into the main area. I've also been here when BOTH dance floors were closed off (the one to the side and one upstairs, though I've never been to the one upstairs). It made for an awkward night trying to find a place in the main area to dance with your friends. The music in the main area is ok, not entirely hip hop with some old school music. The dance floor had better hip hop, but also played some hip hop from half a year to a year or two back. Its nice to hear some older hip hop that you can sing to and dance to at the same time. The crowd was pretty mix, havent quite mingled with them yet. It also seemed different each time I went. The bouncer's very friendly and would joke with you. BUT the reason why I'm giving this place a three was because my friends and I had left medjools and was hoping to find a better crowd at Bruno's at 1a. When I tried to ask the bouncer if there was cover, he kind of kept joking (with air?), checked my Id and handed me off to the cashier. I asked if there was cover again, and the guy (promoter?) didnt even bother to look at me and said $10 (i thought i heard $15) while looking away. Not only was that rude, but ridiculous to still charge for full cover because it was 1a and probably another half a hour until last call. I found this guy so rude that I didnt even bother to talk to him and just called it a night. Great place to go to if you're planning to be there all night, but dont try to end your night here.

"i think im turning japanese, i think im turning japanese, i really think so!" when i think of hiro, i imagine myself dancing to this song...this is a great place to dance, watch a live show (the best accoustics in NYC), and people watch...the vibe is awesome here! there arent any cheesy 18 year old hipsters with angular hair here nor are there dudes trying to dry hump you while dancing...its great!! the decor is very simple yet elegant...the second floor is amazing! i couldnt believe how big this place is! the drinks are a little pricey, but hey you only live once right?
