I really don't know what to say about my experience at Compound.  Everything that I didn't expect to happen, happened.  It was one of the more weirder moments of my trip to ATL, but here goes... I was forewarned by photos of Compound to pretty much get here early.  Not only that due to regular business, but due to the fact that Diddy was going to be there.  You would figure that 10:30 would be a good time to get here right?  Nah, not even close.  Total wait in line: 2 hours.  No bull... Chris Brown. Yeah, there was a cut line, and it was $40.  I don't know if this was the regular price or higher due to Diddy being there, but I didn't need to cut the line that bad.  NOTE:  If you have a pass from a promoter for free admission, make sure to have the email on your phone verifying that the pass was sent directly to you.  Yes, I actually had to have this in order to use the pass.  If not, it would've been $20.  Oh yeah, and make sure the pass is not folded up or they won't accept it. After finally getting in, me and the crew pretty much had a good time.  The music on both dance floors was pumping, beautiful women everywhere, and we were all enjoying ourselves.  On the main floor (second dance floor, bottom level), it was packed like a can of sardines.  I couldn't move without throwing having to throw some 'bows around, and it was like that all night.  Even at 3 am. Found out that smoking is allowed in this club as well.  I guess that's regular in many ATL clubs.  Not my cup of tea though. The bouncers were pretty much on point, no complaints there.  They did their job without being off the wall aggressive, even when Diddy showed up. Overall, the crew had fun, barring the hiccups in the beginning.  I would have to come here again when there's not a big hoopla about a celebrity being there.

This rating is probably 3 stars instead of 2 since all the previous experiences my friends and I had going out in South Beach paled far in comparison. Sad, I know. By the third night into our trip we were desperate to go somewhere decent and that place was Dolce. The line outside was ridiculous, there were people everywhere. Good thing we knew someone who worked there or we would've been completely lost. Once inside, the place was huge! Sort of like The Kress (in La's) five floors. Most of the place is VIP. I have no idea what it's like since we never made it up there. We were just too busy sucking down the drinks because we were all so excited to finally be at a semi-fun place. We only stayed for a little before we went to Prive, but the music was good and the crowd was by far better looking and not drugtastic like at Mansion. We saw a couple of Miami Heat players...totally difficult not to miss them as they towered over the crowd. Funny watching them dance with girls half their height.

I am such an 80s child. Whenever I go dancing I am doing the Molly Ringwald and dancing my little heart out and I don't care if anyone likes it or not. The great thing about the Cat Club on Thursdays is that my dancing actually fits with the music so I look a lot less like a loser. The music in both rooms brings me back to all my awesome 45s and listening to KFRC and rocking out in my living room. It all makes me very happy. There is no way I can't take off a star for the extreme heat in there. Crowded is one thing, but 150 degrees with one freakin' fan is another. It is a bit much although I have learned to go in less clothing each time.
