Definitely a really fun night. I went on a Friday night with three of my girlfriends, we got there at 11:30ish so we wouldn't have to pay the cover which is definitely a good idea because the cover is pretty steep. Although getting there before 12 means you have to stand around for a while because it's pretty empty until about 12- 12:30ish. Unless you feel like getting the dancing started like we did! I bought a drink when I got in there, which was $10 for a mixed drink, expensive, yeah, but the average for clubs in Boston so I expected to pay that much. AND it wasn't watered down which was nice so you were getting what you paid for. Shortly after we started dancing some nice European guys came up to us and asked if we would do them the pleasure of sharing a drink with them, who would turn that down? There are small tables that can be reserved around the dance floor and each one has a girl serving the drinks. It turns out I knew the girl from high school and she was really really nice, she kept asking us if we needed another drink about every 5 minutes, cape codders, champagne, shots, it was great. Needless to say I was very satisfied having gotten in for free and paying for one drink and getting about 6 or 7... fuuuun fun night! Also music was great, stuff you know and really great to dance to. The decor was really elegant, which was easy to notice when I got in there because the place was pretty empty. You wanna know my favorite part about Estate though? NO CREEPERS! For the most part. Most clubs in Boston are full of trashy, guido, meathead, obnoxious guys who think its okay to just grab you without asking and getting all up in your business. This surprisingly didn't happen to me here which was a nice change. I had a nice night of dancing with the girls and had a lot of fun!

Forget the few negatives...  They are irrelevant in the case of Kat's Cafe. I try my best to hit as many live music venues whenever and wherever.  My footprints have been left in live music venues from New York to Vegas and Chicago to Florida.  Small venues have to do something different to distinguish themselves and in this case, the difference here is Kat herself. Kat is a wonderful hostess and does everything she can to accommodate her patrons.   If you went and didn't have a conversation with her, then you missed the Kat's Cafe experience. The bands play everywhere in the city.  The drinks are all the same and funny, cute bartenders are easy to find.  Lapses in service happen every where.  There's but one Kat.  And that's why you go.  I've been looking for my Atlanta hangout for years...  I finally found it.

Wine Good, Food Good, Service is Shit, and the place is a little "tired" looking. I was in the Castro yesterday after working out and wanted a beverage but did not want to pay a cover charge for a horrible experience and crappy drink. We all settled on Blush since we had never been. After sitting down for like 20 minutes, we finally went to the Bar to place our order and still had to wait even more. There was only one person at the bar and the place was packed, I sincerely hoped someone called out sick and thus the lack of staffing. We had the cheese plate and the eggplant dip to go along with our glasses of wine. I ordered a glass of bubbly since I was in the mood for something a little more. However, they had run out, come on, how to you run out of Roerder!!!! I was perturbed, but relaxed, and had a glass of the 5ive Russian pinot which was AMAZING!!!!! Highly recommend this pinot. If you at all remember this place from before, they somewhat shotty cafe/crepe/coffee/something place then you will remember the decor, it is oddly similar (as in they did nothing except hang lights from the ceiling and shortened the bar area). After enjoying our drinks and a short time of people watching, we decided it was time to leave. We had to wait longer for our bill to be run up. This place is wonderful in the sense that it isn't a bar/club that is typical of the Castro and offers something else if you do not want a hard spirit drink. I also like the fact that they are open until Midnight on Fri/Sat so that you can relax and enjoy. I truly hope that my poor service experience is just a one time thing. I will be going back because the price is perfect and the assortment of wines is nice and the being open later is better. If you want amazing service and great wines - earlier in the day - then I highly recommend Swirl on Castro. The service here rivals Blush but the down part is their wines are more expensive and not a lounge atmosphere, more of a Bevmo, buy and go type place. I wish we could fuse the two together and voila!
