Mmm Asian fusion.  My future employer took me out to TAO for dinner while I was in town for a convention and it was probably one of the best meals I had while I was there (I'm a college student and I don't have the $$ to pay for places like this.) When we arrived, they wouldn't seat us until our whole party got here.  No big deal.  But we were allowed to order some appetizers that would arrive at our table shortly after we were seated.  So  I guess, we can just start on the appetizers we ordered: Vegetarian Egg Rolls - These were pretty good, served with a plum sauce as well as mustard.  They were extremely filling and cut so it would be easier to share. Edamame - Standard. Lobster and Shrimp Egg Rolls - They disappeared before I could lay a hand on them, so I guess that's a good indicator on how good they were. Squab Lettuce Wraps - YUM.  Ok, I've had my share of lettuce wraps before and they're all pretty standard.  But I guess I just really enjoyed these ones because I haven't had them in awhile.  The squab was cooked well, lettuce cut into round bowls of perfection, and the sauce.  Oh my lord, the sauce.  Yeah, standard hoisin sauce.  Still good though. For my entree, I ordered the coconut shrimp with a spicy Thai curry sauce.  At this point, I realized that I'm not a huge fan of coconut shrimp.  But the curry completely made up for it.  It was sweet and savory--you knew they had coconut juice in it.  Also, it wasn't spicy enough, but it wasn't bad.  The shrimp, however, were HUGE.  I forced myself to eat it through, and I was overly satisfied. Then we all ordered dessert.  One of the recruiters and I shared the apple wontons with vanilla bean ice cream.  I quite liked the twist on a classic American dessert, especially since it was so good.  Mmm. Lastly, the decor, as you may have seen or heard, is beautiful.  Exposed brick line the walls to the high ceilings, a huge buddha sits on the first floor, this is the ultimate high-class Asian fusion spot.  Oh, and did I mention we saw Patrick Ewing there?  WIN!

UPS is the absolute WORST shipper, BAR NONE. Had a medical item shipped to my home for my grandparent. Super-important item. UPS didnt ring the bell, didnt leave a note and wants me to believe they "attempted delivery." Called them 20 minutes after the supposed delivery attempt, asked them to redeliver  and they assured me they would deliver "sometime later today." It is now 9:50pm, my grandad doesnt have his ventilator filter and UPS has told me about 5 lies today. PLEASE BOYCOT UPS

So when I think of K-town...i don't think trendy lounge, which is definitely what this place is.  I guess that is the difference between K-town in NYC vs. other places.  A small (and i mean small!) elevator takes you up to the Third Floor, and when the door opens you are right in the lounge.  There were four of us, and at 10 pm, we didn't have to wait long for a table.  We got one of their soju specials ( a bottle of soju and either a food item or fruit platter) We got the asian pear flavored soju with chicken...I would have preferred the fruit platter because the table next to us made it look so refreshing.  The chicken wasn't bad though...a huge bowl of fried chicken chunks  (there were pieces of bone attached to the chicken so be careful).  The second flavor soju that we ordered was Lychee...the Lychee had a lot more flavor, basically like eating one of those Lychee jelly things. yum!  They play loud techno music and the service is pretty quick.
