Dancing, drinking, friends, and tacos, etc. Good prices... Good legit SF house music. Don't take it for granted! It's also not a bad place to have a fashion show!

This place is overrated, the foods overpriced (small portions) and as a nightclub it's very boring and usually never has a good crowd. In this area there's not really that many good clubs.

I recommended the Roosevelt to a friend who was in town and coming to LA for the first time from Australia. The main reason was the location, in that we could walk to everything, also because I wanted to hang around the pool all day, and go to Teddy's at night. The front desk staff were ridiculously rude and full of attitude when we attempted to check in early, so we went to the pool, where the hostess gave us a hard time getting in, and then some guy in a Fedora hat with a little spiral notebook informed us we were not likely to get poolside chairs until 4 p.m. as they were all booked (despite the fact that nobody appeared to be sitting in them). The hostess promptly seated us at the worst table available, which was right next to a bad speaker that was blasting Bon Jovi. The clientele around the pool were total skanks, many of them topless to show off their new silicone, I suppose. They appeared to be understaffed that day and it took an hour or longer for the server to bring drinks (which were $16 each). If you're going to spend $400 to hang out by a pool all day, you expect better service. Then we get into our room, which had only 2 towels for the three of us, a bathroom that was so tiny when you sat on the toilet your knees hit the wall, nail polish stains on the carpet, and a smoke detector hanging out of the ceiling by its wires (and we're told this was an upgrade). We showed up at Teddy's at around 1:30 a.m., and were told that we weren't "on the list." I explained we were hotel guests, and we were still turned away. Considering we paid to stay at the hotel, and that there was only a half hour left until the bar closed, I called the front desk to complain and was told by the gentleman who answered, "Just because you're a guest doesn't guarantee entry into Teddy's...that's just the way it is..." Subsequently went to the Beverly Wilshire the next night, which is a much nicer hotel, and was treated like royalty by the staff there.
