by linda L. on The Greatest Karaoke Bar in town! How many other karaoke places do you know of who would ALLOW you to DRINK & EAT while your singing? NONE! :) Pandora has everything from beers to top shelf liquor to satisfy ones needs! Unlike other karaoke studios who allows you to smoke inside. Pandora doesn't, and i think it's great. I, like many others do not like the scent of cigarette smell upon arriving! They have a huge smoking area for those who wish to smoke, BRILLIANT! They have so many different fun rooms. It ranges from Hello Kitty for the ladies to Hennessy room for the fellas! As a matter of fact, I'll be back tonight!

I've lived in SF 6 years now and Shine is undoubtedly my favorite small bar - especially for the third Friday of the month. Dirtybird Records night! http://www.dirtybirdre... About Shine... Shine opened just around Thanksgiving 2005 so it's still pretty new. Couches for the loungers, that pimpdaddy photobooth where you can find your pictures on Flickr a few days later after they've removed the *really* graphic pictures (a little T&A has NO problem getting past the sensors =) There's standing room and ample dance space in front of a classy dj setup. Oh, and the two-way mirror in the mens room is sweet. Flip For It Fridays is a draw too --- if you can manage to get yourself there and order a drink by 11pm the bartenders will flip a coin, if you call it your drink is free. That simple people! One flip for each drink. You have to be in the mailing list, but that's no biggie, they'll sign you up. THE BEST PART about SHINE... at least on the Dirtybird nights... is the people! No one's pretentious, its not a meat market, you won't get asked about your job or your car or your whip --- well, you might get asked about your whip, there's sometimes a burner contingent smoldering about. Kick back, relax, this place is accommodating to everyone. Late 20s, 30s crowd. Good people. THE WORST PART about SHINE... trying to get a cab after-wards can be a bitch. Peace Out.
