by Rudy Auila on Maybe the worst food I've had since, well, since I can remember. I don't have high standards for food (especially in restaurants) but this was awful. Neither my bf or I could eat more than a few bites. Thank god I had some wine or it would have been pure fail. The extra star is for the polite and friendly service. And for having my favorite chardonnay . It's a pretty restaurant and it seems like they do a bang-up business, but, hell's bells. My boyfriend ordered the garlic crab claws and they were cooked into a mealy surrender with indiscernible garlic flavor. I had the asian lettuce wraps, a dish that I believed to be difficult to ruin. It tasted like TGI Fridays frozen food drowning in a cloying plum/soy/evil sauce. Blech. Our waitress sweetly inquired about our virtually untouched plates, offering to give us something else or remove them from our check. We were just so done with the whole thing it was worth it just to pay and get the fuck out of there.
by Reinaldo Crego on All that glitters is not gold but in this case, it is indeed golden as the Israeli name would render...And if you have anything other than a shiny, happy experience, I for one would be shocked. An interesting thing about being at Zahav is the cosmopolitan nature of the setting and the clientele that seems to be drawn to this radiant beacon in Society Hill. The place has been decorated to perpetuate the feeling of being in a marketplace filled will the sounds and smells an sights not so South Philly Italian Market. Mais tres bon! I had an amazing lamb dish and although I thought the portions were meager, I have to start trying to eat less anyway so, Zahav was just there to help me. Forced help. But help none the less. Everything was tasty and the service was tasteful without being pretentious. No one dish stood out for me since I felt that of the things that I will eat, all was really good. La xiam!
by SAM Y. on mayan seems better suited for a rave than a club. i came here for a promotion, line was like 30 mins long, and inside was full of thugs and hot aZn women. so i guess it wasn't that bad.
