I would give this place 2.5 stars actually. I was pretty excited to try this place when it first opened after hearing good reviews from a few coworkers. I ended up going there the second weekend it was open. It was very crowded with a line stretching out the door and up the block. My friend and I decided to stay and eat despite the line as we had already made the trek from south Philly to University City. All in all the burgers and fries were pretty good for what I would call fast-food style. I liked the different ketchup options, especially the chiptole favored one. I also liked the retro style dinning room. That being said I thought the prices were pretty high for basically a glorified fast food burger. A burger, fries, and a drink are gonna run you $13-$15 dollars which is pretty steep. Especially when you can get a way better gourmet burger at Village Whiskey from Philly's resident Iron Chef for only a few bucks more. So although I like the creative aspect of the burger toppings and the concept the price just doesn't really reflect the quality of food you are getting. This place may be great for New Jersey or UNCASVILLE, CT (wherever that is) but this is Philly! You gotta do better than that Bobby! I would suggest Royal Tavern instead of this place.

I was coming to Bruno's as part of a bar crawl for a birthday party but had never heard of the place.  Everyone was like "Bruno's?  You've never heard of Bruno's" and made it sound like the most fantastic place to go in the Mission.  Needless to say with an introduction like that I was bound to be disappointed, and I was.  Yeah, it was a nice place, but I didn't see anything special about it and certainly not enough to recommend it above any other Mission bar. The only good thing was that the group was mostly girls so we were able to negotiate a reduced cover from the bartender.
