Fun place on a Saturday night with plenty of cheap garage parking or FREE valet. How's that for a switch? We arrived around 11:30 and had a short wait, maybe 15 minutes. Headed straight for the back bar as someone's review suggested and got a drink right away as opposed to crowding in at the main center bar. Room was already fairly crowded with a pretty good mixture of ages, races and male-to-female ratio. I hate to resort to comparing it to Halo but it's hard not to. For my buck, T&G has much better music and I like that the on-screen videos are the actual songs being played whereas at Halo, it's just a mish mash of unrelated visuals. The music is also a better blend here; at least in the front-of-house. The "official" dance floor in the back room spins a different blend of music (same artists usually but not in the same order) so you kind of get a more trendy vibe out front and a fun, grittier vibe in the back. I wasn't really thrilled with the DJ in the back when I arrived but I understand the guy before him was better, sorry I missed it. But, that said, it's where I had the most fun dancing and stayed until closing time. My only issue with the place was some drink pricing inconsistency. My husband and I ordered drinks at the same bar from the same bartender. He ordered his first and then I did mine. The bartender didn't know we were together (something we sometimes do intentionally). The very same drink (Texas Margarita) cost my husband $7 and me $8. So I said to the guy, did you just make that price up? He says with an attempt at a chuckle, "nah, we can't just make up prices..." Yeah right! Then he says, the next one will be $7, I let let it go and joked back, at least it's getting cheaper. OK, now, my second Texas from the same bar (different bartender) was $10, WTF? I asked him about this and he said some b.s. about the computer pricing out 1800 Silver at $10. I enjoyed keeping my tip on this one. I could see if I wanted Patron but hello, 1800 is 1800. My husband's second was still $7!! So, maybe they charge guys more up-front to get in and compensate by charging less for drinks and vice versa for women. Anyway, great place for fun and I want to go check out some of the other nights, just gotta figure out what's going on with the whole drink pricing scheme.

I heard about this place for a long time but I haven't have a chance been there!  Finally I could go there on a Saturday night (during Labor Day weekend)!  But it turned out a bad experience for me!  First, parking was too expensive, $20!  Second, they closed the main room.  I was so shocked about this because my LA friends always say how big the party at Vanguard.....Maybe a lot of people were out of town, so Visionshock (the promoter) only hosted the two small rooms.  That was not cool at all!  If you really want to go to the main room, you need to pay aditional admission because another promoter hosted the party there.  Of course I did not go in because there were not packed at all........people seems very boring so my friend and I left at 12:00am...........

Pulling into the parking lot, I felt I was meeting Tony Soprano for a sit down and some stuffed squash flowers. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to meet the boss. Fortunately, I found flavor worthy of a Goodfellas palate. From the stuffed mushrooms to the veal and penne rogati,arrabbiata- the meal was a refreshing experience of authentic Italian cuisine. Perfect texture matched with clear fresh flavors made for a surprisingly pleasant meal while surrounded by the crooning of the Three Tenors and Sinatra. Hard to match this one for ambience and food. Albeit a bit campy, the 1960's decor adds more than a small touch to a great dining experience. Reasonable prices as well. Don't pass this one up....
