Didn't have the food, but had an open bar party here for about 20 of my friends on friday night.  The cost was $25/head and had all the rail drinks and ALL DRAFT BEERS (around 8-10 beers)!! I've never been to an open bar where the beer choice was more then Bud/Budlight/Miller light.  they were sweet enough to print out a sign saying "happy b-day" to my friend and post it on the front door.  Since we were here early, from 9-12:00 the place was pretty empty and we had the pong table to our selves.  The bartender was attentive and amazing, despite having 20 people run up and ask for drinks as soon as possible for 3 hours straight. My friends are of all backgrounds and nationalities and we all loved it there.  Not sure how great of a deal happy hour is or going there w/o an open bar special, but next time I have a party, i'm throwing it at Jakes with their AMAZING OPEN BAR deal!!!

Great drinks (bubbly or other), comfortable ambiance, and a sweet and knowledgeable staff.  I've been into the SF branch a couple of times and the NYC one used to be a second home of mine.  Decor is plush and relaxing, lots of red velvet, cushy pillows, exposed brick, and walls lined with old art deco posters and champagne magnums.  I've also been to a couple of private events downstairs, which have been fun even though the ceilings are a bit low for my taste (admittedly, I am a tall girl, so may not bother others.) We ducked in here on a rainy night on the way home after a big dinner at A5 Steak.  Lovely service and we practically had the place to ourselves.  I hope business picks up as this is always a great spot to grab a drink or a bite with a group of friends or your partner.
