by Ashleigh P. on I have eaten here twice and I have really liked it. But I have used Scoutmob both times and so there hasn't been any sticker shock when the bill comes. The chicken and lemon soup is awesome... just fracking awesome. and the margaritas are STRONG... on my are they strong The guac is good, but we had to add lemon to it... but we usually do that at every other place too. The chips that come with it taste like they are made with hominy.... HOMINY.... I want some right now... now that I mentioned them.... dang cravables, get you every time. I will go again, it's close to home.

I don't understand why it's built into a chi chi shopping mall, but seems to cater to married men in town on a business trip, just looking for a reason, and an opening. Every man I've ever talked to about this restaurant salivates over the waitresses, who are made to dress as if they are one step away from working a pole across town at The Pink Pony. And I don't know...maybe waitressing at The Tavern at Phipps Plaza is a pre-requisite to working at the Pony. Which is fine, I mean, they're hard-working girls. It's just. It's just...I mean, it's Phipps Plaza. And it's an upscale looking establishment. I don't get it. But then, I have two X chromosomes, and I'm hetero. Maybe I'm not meant to. And I think that's important: the people I've talked to about this restaurant never talk about the food. They do not talk about the food and they do not talk about the fabulous bar offerings. Everyone just wants to talk about the waitresses. The few times I've eaten there, I've had okay food. I've only ever ordered appetizers, but they've been okay. The service...again: eh. I blame my extra X chromosome on that...I watch those girls. They work the man tables...but if you show up in a group of girls? Forget it. You have a totally, totally different experience if you show up with a group of girls at The Pony, by the way. Those chicks are way nicer to groups of women. So I'm told. I'm not saying I'm an expert about that or anything. And this review is about The Tavern at Phipps. Those Tavern girls will have pleeeenty of time to figure out who the REAL tippers are, once they're working across town.
