My favorite artists(David Guetta, Above and Beyond, Ferry Corsten, Carl Cox, Armin Van Buren...) tend to choose Opera as their venue and that is really how I ended up going to this place. Drinks are expensive but I rarely drink and I don't ever buy drinks club(priceyyyy) so that's not an issue. The decor and setup is nice, I've never been VIP upstairs but I bet its pretty sweet up there. On the nights of a show, I've had a great time and couldn't ask for anything else as I enjoy the awesome music and dance then night away(actually, there is one thing they could do and its to give out a cup of water for the thirsty and not sell a bottle for 4$, talk about biggest ripoff). Thankfully, theyll give u a cup of water so I fill it up from the tap in the bathroom (yea i like to keep my money in my pockets or spent something worthwhile). On the nights that we've tried to get in before 10:30 on the guestlist, well it was very similar to the other rateclubser's experience. We were asked to pay cover at like 10:35 after standing in line for half an hour and the crappier part of all this is that they purposefully make you wait and keep the line long to give the impression that its packed inside. Last time I was there, it was my brother's birthday and I knew a promoter there so we went to the line on the left and got in pretty quickly and since we were a group of more than 10 ppl, we got a free bottle of champagne. So that was nice. So my experiences have varied at Opera. Now I've always had a good time there and I would give them a higher rating if it weren't for the impersonal way they treat you. Also, Opera is a little uppity for my taste anyways.

If you're bringing your own party and getting a table (or two), then this is the place to go! Although the novelty of the decor wears off in a few milliseconds (cute teacups by the bar, lots of mirrors, and cards of the... you probably guessed, Queen of Hearts all over the walls with a garden motif backdrop), we still had a blast with a party of about 30 people taking an entire section of the club. The girls got down by taking off their shoes and dancing on the stiff booth seats while the cocktail waitresses kept bringing bottles of Veuve with the sparklers spraying glitter everywhere! There may not be a set dance floor in the club, but we all made do somehow. Tip- Get a table for sure or you're going to think this place sucks and is the most stifiling place you've ever been. If you're a dude, it'll be worth it because all the cocktail waitresses are super hot and look like some sort of celebrity or other.
