by michelle d. on Loved this club! My beau and I came on a Sat. night.. getting in was pretty easy but the doorman definitely looked us over before the OK. So, put on your most expensive heels and best dress b/c this place definitely calls for it!! Inside is not too crowded but with the right crowd(no creepy guys lurking about..) and very fun. They play decent music and overall, a fun memorable time. Drinks are $20 each so I can't give it 5 stars but guess that's expected in NY!
by Millicent Babicke on Vast space, nicely decorated, interesting door, confusing DJ, mixed crowd... Breakdown: Spacious enough for anything to happen. Great outdoor area. Decorations are classy, but not over the top. Door guys put on tough tude', but are really nice...at least to direct women is what 1 of them told me =) DJ plays weird tunes at times. I think he's confused about what to play for a "mixed crowd". Speaking of mixed crowd, who the hell are some of these people? How did they get in? I had a good time this night because of the people I was with.
by Divina Stancer on The hype surrounding Trudy's is borderline humorous. Beyond their martini fame and the tasty margaritas, I am perplexed. As C.T. accurately stated in his August 2006 review, the food is bland and stomachache-inducing. The service is the worst I've received. I can say with confidence that the majority of Austin dining spots provide friendly and attentive wait staff, but there are always exceptions. I once had a waiter refuse to serve me because all I wanted was a brownie sundae. Seriously? This close-to-campus location is always packed and rowdy (which could be good or bad, depending on your mood) and the parking can be difficult. I must give credit where credit is due - they have indoor/outdoor seating and are conveniently located. The kitchen hours are different from the bar hours - see the website for more info. Stay away from the quesadillas. Tepid at best, but closer to Yech Blech Pa-tooey.
