I like, I like.  Definately better than a Pat's.  I will get everytime I am in Philly.  By the way...the difference is tiny...they are both good.  Cheese Whiz Wit and a diet Coke.

Come on guys ... I had to sign up just to try and enlightened the people who write on this site after having a bad experience and then exaggerate their complaints. Lets get one thing straight ... for all those people who think that the Greatest Bar is having an identity crisis, it is named the Greatest Bar because it is a celebration of all the Great things about Boston. If you took a look around, you'd see that. Its not claiming to actually be the greatest bar in all of Boston and no we don't need to rename it The Average Bar. And how can you claim the drinks are expensive? They don't get much cheaper. At 7 dollars a mixed drink, you can't drink for less in Boston. Great drinks, fun bartenders and waitresses having a great tiem doing their jobs. With fours floors, you don't have to wait for drinks or food, which is a definite plus. The music is bar music, and it changes every night. Its not special, its just music, whatever's popular. How about the crowd? A young, good looking, fun crowd full of people who come back every weekend because its just that good of a time. Yes, it gets a little rowdy and crowded and the bouncers do their jobs of controlling the crowd the best they can. But people are excited, just went to the game, and want to party! Thats why you're waiting in line. Go someplace less popular if you don't want to be in line. There is a capacity limit and your late! And of course the bar is going to charge a cover when there is a line around the corner to get in. What reputable bar doesn't have a cover on the weekends? It is standard. But I would have to say that the best part about this place is the hot staff and their devotion to making sure everyone has a great time. Get to know them. They have a great time while working and on any given night you can find managers, owners, and satff hanging out even when they don't have to work. Seriously, the Greatest Bar is a great place for laid back, fun people who like to chill with good people. Don't let someone's bad experience or extreme nit-pickiness keep you from checking out the Greatest Bar!

Okay, so I had been to the Lucky Strike in Los Angeles, which is also WAY overrated, but a friend of mine wanted to spend his birthday here, because he said the one in Detroit was awesome...so I shut my mouth and tried to give Lucky Strike NYC a chance. Honestly, all I can say is this place is F-ed up! We called before heading over to see if we needed a reservation, but the girl on the phone said they only had a 20 minute wait. So about 10-15 minutes later we arrive to what seems like a club. There were bouncers outside and a dress code (for a bowling alley?!)...so after basically being frisked and forced to remove our hats, we got inside. People were dressed like they were at the hottest nightclub in town...which, once again in my opinion, is totally F-ed up! Now I realize that's kinda the feel they are going for, but unless celebs show up every other night, why would anyone want to go "clubbing" at a BOWLING ALLEY?! Wait, nevermind the celebs... WHO GOES CLUBBING TO A BOWLING ALLEY?!?! Whatever! So we go to sign ourselves up to bowl and the wait was now over 2 hours! Yes, fifteen minutes after we were told to just show up. Also, after checking out their prices we realized it was going to cost EACH of us around $20 PER game...WHAAAT?!?! We stayed there for about 10 minutes to wait for everyone to show up and then left... Hell No! Whoever comes here more than once for a simple night of bowling & beer, I pity you...You are wasting your money!
