I was there with Corinne R. to witness the whole mess. I WILL NOT be going to Slide ever again. Not only was the door bouncer a jerk, the guy guarding the sidewalk in front (or whatever the eff he was doing) kept yelling at us to move, when we were in the way of NOTHING. There was a good 3 or 4 feet of open sidewalk for people to get by. It was completely ridiculous. The whole event even brought one of our friends to tears. Not at all how we wanted to celebrate birthdays. Slide will never get my $.

Well here it is, in my opinion the best set up for any venue I have ever seen.  In the past years the place has run down a little but it still is a beautiful lay out. I mean clubs that have a good flow and high ceilings are hard to find specially ones that can accommodate the masses of Avalon.  I have been going to his club since it was called Palace and I have so many fond memories of this venue that I would give it 6 stars if I could.  This club along with After Hour Power put LA on the map as one of the best after hours cities in all of the world.  Bringing excellent talent it has always lived up to my expectations.  However in the recent years it has sort of been a hit or miss depending on the talent they bring so I do warn you don't think that if you go on any random weekend its going to be the best of the best.  Back in the days this place was harder to get into then fort knocks but now I believe it is a bit easier, I wouldn't know as I am a regular and don't really think Ive ever had a problem getting in.  If you like house/trance then this is the spot for you on a Saturday night, but I suggest at least checking to make sure they have good talent as the club itself is so large it may sometimes seem empty if you go on a off weekend.  Once again ....my reason for 5 starting this spot is more based on my past memories of the spot rather than recent, although hey are 5 starts 1 time a month minimum..usually they rank around 3 or 4.  For me the determining factor is obviously the talent, then the crowed...the venue as I said is hands down the best set up...

Enjoyed the Space Cowboy Halloween Party at this Club - good music, fun vibe, great time - would like to check it out on more of a normal night.... Pros: VIP/Bottle Service includes endless mixers, waters, and a large booth area good for a group, Statue in the basement adds to the Ambiance, Coat Check allows more flexibility for dressing on cold nights! Cons: Bartenders failed to tell us we'd have to give up our 2nd bottle of vodka at 2 when we ordered it around 1:20 am - even though the party went until 4.  Ultimately it was our responsibility, but I thought it was a bit sketchy of the wait staff taking the order not to remind us....other than that, I have no complaints... Final Note - would love to check out the part with the stripper pole some time - sounds like a good time!  ;-)
