by Dave C. on I was in Central Square on a Saturday and just looking for a quick place to get lunch and by looking at the menu posted in the window Phoenix Landing is what we chose. We entered to find a fairly dark and empty bar except for a handful of patrons at the bar. We stood confused near the door for about ten minutes trying to figure out if who we thought might be the outdoor waitress was busy or not. Eventually we got out side and some menus. We were informed that they had no draft beer to to an issue with the carbonation lines. Oh well, it happens and isn't the main reason the review is poor. That is because the waitress was remarkably slow for how few people were there and put off the vibe of loathing her job. As for the food it was both cheap and rather good. Not the best that I have had but it was pretty much spot on for a quick filling, but not too filling lunch. The fries were surprisingly good for hand cut fries I thought too. I would probably give Phoenix Landing another shot some time as the food was good and one experience with poor service isn't enough to condemn a place. Hopefully and updated review will follow.
by Rolland Branscombe on I am annoyed, and I guess I should probably not write a review when I am annoyed, but this is what Rateclub is for I guess.... I like Trigger, it is a great club, very New York style, not everybodys taste but it is mine, I have been here about 6 times since it opened, but last night I was short changed and this was the 2nd time. Now, I have been short changed before, probably 3 or 4 times in the last 5 years, and usually it is an honest mistake, but in the same place twice in only 6 visits????? I hope management reads these and realizes that there might be something going on. I did bring it to the barman's attention last night, on a busy Saturday night who said I was wrong and moved on, it was not worth making a scene in a busy place . Once honest mistake, twice in a short space of time, something going on, (oh and I was stone cold sober.....),

This place is very exclusive so bring your best looking friends, a promoter, or $$$ for bottles. Its pretty small so it fills up quick and is always packed. I find it funny that people pay money to have a table so they can party next to models meanwhile the same models were comped for their bottle while the suckers think they are cool. Tuesdays and Thursdays are the best nights to go!
