by Thomas S. on Going to clubs reminds me of a South Park episode where Cartman owns a theme park solely for the purpose of attending himself while parading to others in tv commercials that they can't come. But hearing that made people want to attend. So it amuses me when people complain about club's quality of services when it's pretty much in their nature to be exclusive and snotty as possible. Oh yes, the ultra chic nightclub is one of the few places in the US where young Americans' sense of entitlement are not recognized and that makes them quite grumpy waiting in line with the rest of the bros. But anyways, I'm getting way off topic. I arrived somewhat early (10:40) in an evenly ratio group of girls and guys. Yes, we waited in line for a bit. Yes the bouncers weren't friendly. Yes, the head chick with the pad thingy and the guest list was bitchy. But you know what? That's pretty much what's expected from a club on a weekend night. So I accepted my fate and waited in line with the rest of the peasants. If you don't have much girls in your group prepare to fork over money for a table cause you're prob not getting in. The line was a bro-deo of guys trying to decide whether to spend the money on a table, leave for another venue, or spend their precious night in line staring at velvet ropes. I was lucky enough to get in after half an hour, pay the cover ($25) and actually see the inside. It's actually a nicely decorated club. Decent lighting. two floors with one being mostly top hiip hop and the other house music (huzzah). Good music, good vibe, and decent mannered people. Drinks are a little pricey but at least they were decently done. My date bought me a stronger drink to get the bang for the buck (or her buck). Dance floor got a little crowded, but the top floor was roomy enough. Overall, I had a pretty good time, though I'm not sure if I would come back here again. Maybe if I were peer pressured into it. If you're coming here with your bros, don't bothering trying to get in unless you're willing to spend some hard earned money. Tis a sad time to be male and on a budget with the rest of your financially strapped friends.
