I had such a terrible experience with Manor West that I just can't avoid rateclubsing...I was hoping to use rateclubs for my best experiences, but sorry to say my first review on rateclubs has to be for my worst customer service experiences anywhere. My fiance was trying to set up a b-day shindig for me with 30+ guests (all are working professionals in the Bay Area) at Manor West for a month and nothing came through.  He tried to set up bottle service and/or a guestlist for my event only to get no answer until the last minute.  And even with an answer we were misinformed with mixed messages. So we just figured we'd try our luck and try to get in by getting to the club at a decent time and willing to pay for 30+ people to get in. Our group purposely had a nice dinner nearby to walk to Manor West, we finished dinner around 10PM so got to Manor West around 10:15-10:30 at the latest only to find out that they would not let anyone in who was not on the guestlist or purchased bottle service.  Even though the line was extremely short, they were adamant they could not let anyone else in not on a list or getting bottle service. At this point 2 of my girlfriends were already inside who were NOT on a guestlist nor purchased bottle service, who informed me that they don't know why the club didn't let us in b.c no one was inside but them and a handful of ppl.  They came at 9-9:30 isn to meet up with us, but since we ran overtime during dinner they decided to try and go inside.  My 2 friends said, when they got there they got asked a gazillion questions by the bouncer like "what are you doing here?"  Who asks that type of question at a supposedly elite venue?!  Why else would 2 dressed up ladies be standing in line?!  So the bouncer decides he was still unsettled with their answer and calls another coworker to come out and evaluate the situation, the lady looks at my friends up and down and tells the bouncer he can let them in.  It's one thing to be exclusive, but that's just rude!  You have 2 beautiful blond women wearing black, classy dresses, are you kidding me?! Then it gets worse.  I go over to speak to the bouncer and tell him, sir I have a party of over 30+ ppl here for my birthday, is there anything you can do to let us in, I guarantee we will give you great business tonight.  (Keep in mind I'm dressed up in a black dress with high heels, so not dressed down at all, as were all my guests.  AND we had more women than men in our group.) He tells me to move my guests away from the sidewalk even though we weren't blocking anything!  Meanwhile takes a quick look at a couple of our guys and says no b.c a few of them were wearing jeans (regardless that it's with button up dress shirts).  Heeellllooo, do you freakin' realize designer jeans are more expensive than dockers/slacks?  Why go for classy if you don't even know what class is?  It starts with good customer service and knowledge stupid! Needless to say I called my girlfriends out of the club and we all went to party at a neighboring club who gave us great bottle service and tons of courteous service, and just general respect. Funny thing is another group of my friends showed up later to Manor West b.c they didn't realize we changed venues, who told us it wasn't that crowded inside at 11:30 and the line wasn't too bad.  Obviously they screwed up and didn't let enough people in and needed to retract their exclusivity and biased tactics. Regardless of how the club looks or how great the music could be inside, great customer service is one of the top qualities that keeps a successful business going long term.  What goes around comes around Manor West!  If you didn't realize SF is one of the most diverse cities in existence, and if you don't learn to integrate diversity soon, you won't be able to prosper, get ready for a rude awakening! That's my first and last attempt to give any business to Manor West.
