by Anita C. on Drinks: pretty strong Prices: Got in before 10:30pm so no cover :) and no line, too (we got there at 10:15pm) Drinks were a little pricey. $8 for Sex on the Beach [in any other context, that would be a good deal ;-) ] tastes better than the one I had here least year Music: Good, until later in the evening when the speakers sounded like they were going out, and then suddenly get loud, then soft, then loud...some songs were so-so for me, but a good mix View: Nice rooftop area. View isn't out of this world, but a nice change of pace if you want to take a break from the dance floor or from being inside Come back? Why not?
by Sean O. on We had a group of visitors in town last night and after an early dinner we wanted to go to a place in the area to just hang out and talk. I never ever think of Martuni's, but someone suggested it and I am so glad they did. This place has been around forever and it's a real gem. The crowd is truly mixed and that makes for a comfortable atmosphere for all. The drinks are really amazing. I had Key LIme Pie, (okay four of them), my friend had French Toast and another had Hot Apple Pie. They are tasted just as advertised! In the back they have a piano bar and since we were relatively early (9 pm) we were easily able to get a table for six. The music was really fun, but boy do I feel old now! When I used to go to piano bars in my younger days they always played old standards. OMG, now they are playing music from when I was growing up, Elton John, Beatles, Billy Joel, Carol King and some 80s music from when I was in college! Time sure passes quickly! Anyway, this is a great place to meet up with an old friend, take visitors or just chill with your friends when you don't want a "scene". Also the service is fantastic. I don't know the waiters name, but he is always there and he really adds to the vibe there. Super nice and you always have a drink in your hand. I highly recommend Martuni's.
