by Scot E. on My favorite chili dog in the world! I've been eating here since I was little. I remember my parents driving into Atlanta just for the Varsity. My dad went to Georgia Tech so he had grown fond of the food there. I would sit in the backseat with my brother and we would happily eat in the car, I thought it was the coolest. When I started to drive I would drive up and eat in my car with my friends. We'd head to Atlanta and stop at The Varsity before hitting the bars and nightclubs. Now I live in California but EVERY TIME I go to Georgia, my first stop after leaving Hartsfield Airport is The Varsity. I actually will not book a flight that arrives when The Varsity is closed. "What'll ya have?" Number one with a coke please!

The place is huge and the atmosphere is pretty noisy which wasn't bad since we were having a team dinner and after a few beers, well you know it get's sorta loud. The hostess and wait staff were pleasant and attentive to our needs. We ate family style so we ordered multiple appetizers, salads, main dishes and deserts. I thought the Calamari was a overly salty and the main dishes were pretty average as were the deserts. Cost wise I thought dinner was quite expensive for one person.
