by Sally M. on I saved this for my last meal in Austin (Texas BBQ!) and was disappointed. I think being an airport location may be a big part of the problem- it seemed very cafeteria-esque. I actually tried to eat here my first day, but the place closed down 30 minutes earlier than stated on the airport's website (I got there at 8:30pm). Anyways... I went all out and ordered the brisket and sausage platter for $12. My sides were pretty bad- my beloved potato salad was mushy, cole slaw and baked beans both didn't have much flavor to it. The bread that it came with was like a generic sesame seed bun. The sausage was okay, but the brisket was delish and super tender. I liked the sauce that covered the meat- not too sweet or thick. I think I should have went to the taco stand...
by tessa c. on wish that there were more places like this one, but the crowd can get a little strange when it gets crowded. food is excellent - small apps make a great meal. i highly recommend getting the kobe beef burgers, mini tacos (yes those are tostitos scoops that you're eating, but the real pulled seasoned meat w/ a jalapeno slice and a dollop of sour cream redeems the taco), grilled shrimp is the best here - served with a sweet citrusy dip. i personally like the edited selection of mixed drinks - show some taste and style. dark & stormy, pimm's cup, demi peche etc.. go early and leave early - so you don't have to deal with the riff raff. or come here during the week. but get ready to wait if you try to come here after 10PM near or during the weekend. music - funky and eclectic - you have to like real DJs spinning beats, electronica, and hip hop.
