by sharlenne s. on Hello Israel!! 4.5, but I'll round it off. Zahav was amazing and very different from all the other restaurants I've been to. Nicely decorated, great service, and awesome food. We loved everything we had, but there were definitely some favorites. 1. Hummus - yummaaaayyyy!! It had a nice smokey flavor to it. 2. Salatim - all 8 salads were great, but my favorite was the eggplant. My friend enjoyed the fennel and the okra salads best. 3. Fish Kofte - really tasty but subtle. I could have the broth it came in for breakfast every day. 4.Crispy Haloumi - both of our favorites. Great combination of sheep cheese, dates and pine nuts. 5. The Galil - tomato couscous, whaaaaaat???? Amazing. The eggplant was very delicious too! 6.Halvah Mousse - best dessert I've had in forever. Chickpea praline was amazing. Next time I'm trying the lamb shoulder.
by Melissa Y. on I had my birthday party here two years in a row. You can rent out the entire back room for parties. The food is great and cheap. The honey wine is good and adds nice contrast to the spicy food. I love the wallpaper too. I love the family that runs the place and the bartender is a neighborhood favorite.
