Coda was a pleasurable experience. Relaxing ambiance, good service, food and music. What more can you really ask for? Service: The waiter Jonathan was attentive and welcoming, and Bruce the owner checked in on us to make sure we were having a good time (nice touch). They have only been around since August, and seem to be going a good job. Food: I would not recommend the risotto (it was not awful, but not fantastic either), but the burger was really very good. They use a "Wagyu" beef which is the American equivalent of Kobe. No ketchup at Coda, but what they do have is they own home made concoction which was really tasty (albeit a bit loose). Was not a fan of having to pay a dollar for ketchup...that was a first. Music: Austin de Lone & Aram Danesh rocked the house with great music. I think its like $7 just to check the band out, or if you decide to stay back for the music after dinner, its $5 per head. All the money goes to the musicians, so thats cool too. All in all it was a good time and I see myself going back for more.

Mezzanine is my kinda place- more like, my dream music venue. It's an intimate space w/ a hip, modern vibe to it, great set-up, perfect lighting, 3 bars and a choice upstairs lounge area. I was lucky enough to get hooked up w/ tix for the Lady GaGa show and What. A. Night. I was surprised to find out that she could really work that small stage w/ her dancer entourage, bubble grand piano and who could forget... her spaceship. The only thing I'd improve is tightening up the security. There were a few situations where I was a little nervous (a crazy fight that went down and a guy that was threatening to throw us off the balcony). Yikes. A good time was had all around and I'd even go as far to say that, that was one of the most fun shows I've ever been too. TIP: Try and snag a spot on the upstairs balcony if you don't feel like wildin' out on the bottom floor. Make sure you spread those 'bows so you don't get pinched out!
