It's someone who you normally avoid during the day and whose appeal increases dramatically and reliably whenever you find yourself inebriated. You might feel a little dirty afterward, but the satisfaction is also undeniable. Staples here include Scallion Pancakes, Beijing Special Sauce Noodles and, of course, the Scorpion Bowl; I also recommend trying the Lobster Special - it's surprisingly good. The waiting staff may seem impatient initially, but they're kind of like the aunt who is close enough with you to yell at you. I can't live without this place.
by Jess E. on I was expecting something so much more original. No different than a ton of other clubs. Same obnoxious Hollywood geeks walking around. These crowds are becoming so predictable. The service was great but the entrance down stairs was a total disaster. The doormen couldn't get it together. One even got so disgruntled he told people in the line on the Hollywood side that they were there to show how busy the place was and that they were never getting in. Wow! The only cool part about up stairs was the patio overlooking Hollywood. Like I said the service was good and the location is cool but something is telling me that the club will have it's day and a short one at that. They should just be glad they are in the "W", that will help. Any more hype on this place is overstated. I made a video of my walk through and will post it to Youtube. I think you'll get a feel for it right away.
