FREE food, $5 beer, awesome crowd, great LIVE music, and cute bartenders! My friend and I each inhaled 3 very large and very tasty and very FREE hotdogs - they were grilling them outside on the patio. All the while, listening to this great local band perform live Jazz with one guy playing the harmonica - so mesmorizing. The crowd was very chill, no douche-bags in sight - what a relief, and everyone was having a great time. Love this place!

As of recent, Friday nights here at Opera/Crimson is Asian night thrown mainly by Glam/Blended. Parking is typical, if you get lucky, you can find a parking spot on the street somewhere but make sure you read and understand the parking signs carefully. You can always fish for different parking lots, which sometimes the sign says $8 then when you drive up, the guy says "$15." So don't get fooled by the signs, just drive up and yell, "How much is parking here?" Sometimes the guys are so lazy, they point back at the sign and don't verbally reply, but what if the sign are a false advertisement? Lazy a$$es, just reply and tell us how much it is! Anyway, so we get here around 10:30ish and the line was decent, maybe about 50ish people in line at that moment. Once again, it was a nice sword fight but I'm not surprised. The venue itself, shared with Crimson is okay. There's small pockets in this club where it's dark just in case you want to get cozy with someone. The main dance floor is small. I actually like the dancefloor in the smaller room (I believe that's Crimson's side) but it was pretty dead in there so I didn't really go in there except to get my drinks. There are four bars to choose from. The closest bar to the entrance/smoking area sucked the most. Why? Well, most people seem to go to that one and the douchebag bartender there blows. Most bartenders will notice if you've been standing there with cash in your hand for a little while. This guy was all over the place. There was no consistency or technique, yet alone any skills. So I said F it and took the crew to the bar in the smaller room. It wasn't as packed at that bar. I told the bartender, who I will call him 'A" (just in case his boss is reading this), "Your bartender over there gives no love, so I'm here to buy and tip you instead." He slyly apologized and happily served me my drinks that's not even difficult to make to begin with, "Four shots of Black Label please." It doesnt get easier than that for my crew. So we tipped him well and always went back to him. He started to hook us up after a while so kudos to our new bartender. We're loyal dogs like that and we take care of our bartenders. Back to the club... It was a busy night but not as jam packed as I've seen it before. The smoking area is small and doesn't seem like its well ventilated. Getting a table here in the smoking patio will have its pros/cons. If you and your party smokes, then perfect. If you or a few of your members don't smoke, that table will definitely suck. If you don't care but the girls you bring over to your table do care about the smoke in their faces, then this is not the right area of tables to choose. There was a good amount of people who didnt speak English or when they did, it was E.S.L. And as I predicted when I was outside and saw the line, there's a lot of dudes in the place. All and all, it was an okay night and the venue is decent. They played a lot of the typical music you hear on the radio. Cover for us guys was $15 with gueslist (which ends at 10:30 promptly) and I'm not sure how much for females with guestlist. Full admission price is $20.

I visited Roe last night for the first time for my company holiday party. It's a beautiful venue but the DJs were pretty horrible. Also, I saw only one tray of food pass (granted, I didn't get there until after 9pm, but still!) and I know that we paid them pretty well- so there really is no excuse for the absence of food! The bar staff was friendly, quick and efficient so people were completely hammered by the end of the night since they were heavily drinking on empty stomachs (someone fell face-first and split their lip on the dancefloor and had to get stitches; I think that about sums it up!). If your company decides to celebrate here, make sure you eat first!
