Went on a Tuesday night thinking it will be  a no fuss night. What a disaster. Promoters only let in people they knew, and had the worst attitude ever. What was more puzzling to me was the crowd. I expected refined young adults but instead the place was crawling with sketchy men and barely 18 yrs old girls shrieking at the top of their lungs. After 30 min, the bouncer was kind enough to tell me not to bother waiting anymore (after he consulted with the promoter). Several people who were admitted left saying that they were not having a good time. I can't comment on that since I never got in. My advise to you would be to stay away from this place!

OMG... where do I begin?! This is going to be one of my LONGEST reviews.... First of all, I am a HUGE fan of Morimoto and I believe he has the best technical skills compared to that of the other Iron Chefs. I just really respect his style and methods of cooking. I came here because my co-workers were invited out for dinner. I tried to act cool and suave and limit my excitement level because I didn't want to appear too "unprofessional" but as soon as we entered the restaurant, all of that went out the door. The restaurant has a modern, chic atmosphere where the tables are capsuled within areas that visually appear like you are in the ocean. There is an interesting hologram wall picture of a Japanese girl that smiles then changes into a serious pose once you tilt your head. When we were seated, I felt like I was a critique (which I'll cross out as one of my bucket list items) on Iron Chef. Even our server looked and talked like a younger Alton Brown!!! I ordered the "truffle omakase" menu along with my fav uni and toro. The uni... was heavenly. It took much discipline to not devour it.  I had to restrain myself in order to savor the intense sea flavor I slowly allowed to melt in my mouth. It was a couple seconds of complete bliss.... My first course from the truffle menu: Black truffle toro had slivers of truffle on top of a mini black pastry to look like a bon bon which had bits of tuna inside. It wasn't my fav, but still it was a great first course. 2nd: Whitefish Carpaccio... This was one of my favorites. The whitefish was thinly sliced infused with white truffles and a hot oil that accentuated the fish. The oil and truffles intensified the flavor of the fish which challenged the senses of all my taste buds. SPECTACULAR! 3rd: Torilla de trufa This was an artistic dish. Three bite size items were presented on top of a bite size circular tortilla. There was smoked salmon, kanpachi, prosciutto as the 3 main proteins on top of the tortilla. My personal liking was for the kanpachi, because it was raw. 4th: white truffle potato dumplings. Very soft, gnocchi like texture that was only expensive because of the truffles. It just tasted like really good dumplings which met my expectations. 5th: Black truffle suimono: THIS WAS AMAZING! This was a slow cooked duck egg with bacon. I have to say that the broth was slightly salty, but the egg was divine. I asked the server and he explained (with his alton brown like tone) how the egg is simmered for 50 minutes to produce the consistency of the yolk. This was a complete success and If I were a critic I would ask the Chef to save all the eggs for me afterwards. IT was THAT good..and I'm not even an egg person, let alone a duck egg person. 6th: Roasted veal with sweetbread katsu - To be honest, I don't remember too much of this course but I'm sure it was great. I think the wine, lychee martini and being drunk on the amazing flavors of the previous dishes was still lingering with me that I was in a happy state of whatever I'm eating I'm gonna love. 7th - sushi rice salad This was a sashimi salad with arugula and shavings of more truffle. Again, I don't remember too much but it was probably one of the most expensive salads i will eat in my lifetime because there were chunks of truffle everywhere, which was awesome. FINALE: Dessert: Bittersweet chocolate torte with truffled hazenut mousse. This was a beautiful work of art. Whatever is shown on television cannot replace the beauty of the food item being placed in front of you. The slight intensity of the chocolate aroma pushes one's stomach to adjust so more food can enter. The most memorable part of this dessert was how the sea salt on the dish actually accentuated and complimented the sweetness of the chocolate where a non-dessert fan would even enjoy. There was a maturity about this dessert where it wasn't sweet at all but still teases  with the line of dessert with a hint of sweetness from the mousse. Definitely not something I would crave if I were wanting a fulfilling dessert but a nice conclusion to a sophisticated meal that simply challenged my palette to another level of a food experience. Overall, 5 starts indeed. This place is awesome!  When i come back to phili... this is one place i will save my $ to go to!!

I don't think it's even a nightclub. The layout sucks so much that people going to the tables are always crossing the dancefloor, pushing you all the time when you're trying to dance. Tends to be a douchebag realm, bad attitude everywhere. Good that my friends and I were on a guestlist because paying for that would have been such a waste... If you're looking for a nightclub, go to Ruby Skye instead even if you have to pay for it. Too bad we can't put ZERO stars.
