by Stefanie L. on 3 stars for the bar itself (shady regular clientele, so-so ambiance) 5 ENTHUSIASTIC stars for the new kitchen within Clooney's called The Galley. This culinary gem is the last thing you'd expect when dodging punches and bullets within the bar to get to the tiny kitchen itself. This place just raised the bar on bar food. The Galley isn't open for dinner just yet so you'll have to settle for lunch. Galley's had a special dry run event last Friday with a menu that was equally delicious and unexpected. Highlights: - French Onion Sandwich - tender meat, lovely cooked onions, the works - Beef Tongue on pita bread with cheese - not an item for the fair-weathered eater. The beef tongue was incredibly tender and flavorful. - PB&J on crack - this "oldie but a goodie" got a yummy face lift with fresh grounded PB, homemade jam and toasted bread. I'm glad my mom didn't make it like this when I was growing up because I would have had a severe childhood obesity problem from overeating. - Complementary seasoned nuts - I tasted rosemary, orange and something else... Mm mm good.. Since I don't work in the city, I'll have to say Farewell For Now to The Galley until it officially opens for dinner. If you're local, though, I highly recommend this hidden spot for a very, very satisfying bite to eat.
by lena n. on this place is the worst place ever. steve the owner is a douchebag. how you gonna hold someone's tips just because she made more than all of your stupid bartenders. and you decided to split tips last minute when you saw she made a lot of tips from all of her friends. you were unhelpful and a con artist. all of your bartenders were all bitches as well. they act as if they were never a beginner before. and you dare pay a "guest bartender" the next day, after you held her own tips, a measely $21 bucks!??!?!! you just made your own place look bad by being an ahole to your own "guest" bartender. you were mean, rude, arrogant, and racist. never ever will anybody go to your place again. and this is not a lie, this is the truth about you and your place. this is not defamation because we have 10+ people who will witness to how you and your other workers treated the "guest bartender" and how you stole her money. you will not hear the end of this because i will get l&i involved, bbb, dol, and whatever it takes to get the news spread of your arrogance and unprofessionalism in your workplace. ****everybody beware of this place!!!****
