by Mike B. on A trendy lounge complete with mirrors and recessed lighting, Eve is the type of place I typically avoid. But enticing happy hour deals posted almost every day on the sandwich board outside beckoned my cohorts and I to give this place a shot last week. We weren't disappointed. The happy hour deals vary, but almost always extend beyond the typical weak offering of some cheap, crappy beer for $2. There are some steep discounts for cocktails and martinis and I can say that the drinks were strong and well-prepared. I'll definitely consider this place again for happy hour. Not sure if I'd come here for a late night hangout.
by Serita L. on okay, first off, let me say I am a Philadelphian, born and bred...and I DO NOT STAND IN LINES - not for clubs, not for movies or for restaurants... I live and work in West Philly so I have seen the phenomenon that is The BBP line. Pretentious is the word that comes to mind. My co-workers wanted to try Bobby's so I figured - it's nice outside and fairly early (not yet 12:00) so we take the trek. Why does Bobby's not open until 12:00 today? Why is there a line outside already? I am not what one would call a follower, so WHY am I actually entertaining this as doable? So we wait... and the doors finally open.. and we stand there.. and at 12:32 we finally get to the register - did I mention that there is only ONE cashier working??? The kitchen can't keep up with the orders... HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? There are like a million cooks in the back! grrrrr. So I order my food..then wait another 10 minutes to get it (I understand, they gotta cook the food.. So I get back to my desk. and the burger is red at the first bite. grrr... call Bobby's and the phone rings and rings... I inhaled the burger at my desk anyway cause I have no time to go back - I only get an hour for work - was the burger good? Sure.. great? Not at all. It was like going to any other place to get a burger that would be several steps over Mikey D's or Wendy's.. There are too many other places on campus that charge the same for the food plus wait staff and minus the pretentious line
