Since we are spontaneous with our dinner plans we rarely make reservations, which in restaurants like Top Flr it means a bit of a wait on a Friday night. We opted for waiting for out table at the bar while drinking a Malbec from their vast wine selection. The layout and design of the place makes it feel very intimate while still being very chic, but not pretentious. The food presentation is beautiful, but more importantly its actually quite good. The menu is a bit limited, but it has just enough variety to fit most pallets. I had the Fig Balsamic Lamb Chops and Top Flr Mac and Cheese. Which are simply both outstanding. For dessert coffee and Tiramisu. A great experience and I would definitely recommend it, especially for a romantic date.
by Priscilla C. on This place is not a place I'd be suggesting as the first option for a night out with the girls. The only reason why I was there the other night was because of a random and spontaneous idea my girls had to go dance. I was told to not have high expectations about this place, as it was referred to as being a little "ghetto" and to not even get all that primped and pretty. Lols. Parking always sucks for clubs, but this parking was not my cup of tea..most of the parking could be found behind the building in the alley way... girls dressed hoochie + dark alley in LA = (fill in the blank) We get in there around 11, no one is dancing and its pretty dead. Greeeeaaaaat. -__- The bathroom was the tiniest I've ever seen. Two stalls and one sink in like a 4x4 space. Yea the bathroom sucked, kind of grossed me out. actually. The smoking area again was very tiny, but I guess the tropical looking plants made it somewhat better. :] But geez what a tiny ass place! The bar was a little pricey, their AMFs were $13! Wtheck, I've gotten cheaper drinks at the Association where their drinks are all hoity toity along with every other club/bar/lounge I've ever been to. The first two drinks I had were pretty weak, and unless I don't plan on getting down on the dance floor I need my muscle relaxant aka liquor. So with a pretty nice tip I politely asked the bartender to make the drinks stiff, and he delivered! For the rest of the night he kept them coming nice and hard, then gradually the place started to get better and better. Overall I had a good time here, the crowd was actually mixed which was nice, although us Asians were still the majority. However the reason for me having a good time here definitely wasn't because of the venue, but the good company I had with me and the strong drinks that gave me the WORST hangover this morning. x[ Would I come back??? Sure if there's absolutely nothing better to do in the world, which kind of makes that possibility slim. The only reason for the 3 stars was bc of the bartender, good music, and the good time I had with my girls.
