Been meaning to eat here for awhile now and I finally got a chance to check it out a few weeks ago. We didn't get any appetizers since the server took too long to come to our table and we already new what we wanted as entrees. It was only me and a lady friend. So we ordered the lobster pasta, Duck breast, the Lamb Chops as entrees, and the Mac n Cheese and Shitake mushrooms as sides. Overall the pasta was good, Duck breast was so salty that I had to order bread just to eat it, Lamb chops were okay, Mac n Cheese was awesome and the mushrooms were mushrooms. What's going on with the beer selection? They only have maybe 5 or 6, but I've never heard of them. I ordered a Heineken and the server said thay don't carry Heineken, but they do have something that tastes similar to Heineken. This restaurant was average at best to me.

i'm not reviewing the nightclub aspect of this place.  as far as a music venue, i'll just say this:  every time there is a band i really want to see, i start looking forward to it.  then, when i see that said show is taking place at webster hall, i get frustrated because it could be the best show in the world, and i won't step foot in that place again. even if you're not an audiophile, you'll quickly notice that this place has the worst soundsystem ever.  that's reason enough for me.  if you want to look for other reasons, you'll find plenty. i'll try to describe how their soundsystem is:  say i turned up the volume on my television all the way and blew out the crummy built in speakers.  now, i take one of those microphones from a really cheap toy store karaoke machine and stick it in front of the tv speakers.  then i play the sound through cheap car speakers as loud as possible.  now, picture me driving by you pretty fast, playing that awful racket from said car.  the sound you are hearing for the half second that i pass you is pretty close to how everything sounds at webster hall. the one positive thing i can say about this place is that the bartender made my gin and tonics really, really strong.  one was plenty for me, and i can usually throw back three before i'll say enough. all the shows that used to sell out the bowery ballroom quickly now seem happen at webster hall, because there's a greater capacity.  the bowery ballroom is like the opposite of webster, a class act all the way, and it used to be great when most of the bigger shows happened there.  it really makes me wish that webster hall never existed, or that the quality of life people would shut down webster hall.  then things could go back to the way they were... awesome.
