by Ariza S. on Holler to hottest bartender on 6th street! This Australian beauty was just delicious looking and kept the drinks coming all night. Besides him, I can't say there's much to love about Pure. The crowd is diverse and consist of men looking for a girl to pounce on. The decor is trendy and the music I heard was mostly techno which I'm not a fan of. Drinks were about 8-10 a glass which is a little on the high end but we didn't have to pay for cover so it evened out. There are three levels here: the first being people who mainly want to drink and chill, the second is a bit more bare and had funny smelling carpet and the third was where the party was at. It was jam packed, had a tiny dance floor and only had three bartenders working the massive crowd. I literally went to every bar on 6th street and this was where I saw most of the actual dancing action at so if that is what you seek, hit up Pure for your booty shaking.
by Lorette Reimund on RUBY SKYE! What a wonderful place! I was here on Friday for Above and Beyond. They were awesome! I bought the tickets ($35) online and printed them out from home. There was hardly a line and no problems at the door. The bouncers are really nice and treat you like human beings and not a herd of cows. It is really upscale, but they are not anal bout the dress code. You can get in with tennis shoes and tshirts but majority of the crowd are semi dressy. They have awesome lights and lasers with crazy dancers on stage. They try really hard to keep the place clean. The club remains drama free. There are 2 bars, one downstairs by the main dance floor and the other upstairs by the balcony. There's a hip hop room upstairs too. Don't know how that is. Why waste time in there if you're at Ruby Skye? There is a good mix of guys and girls. I mean there are still gawkers, but tell me where there aren't any. My only gripe is there's no seating or lounging area to rest your feet. Only if you get a VIP table. The music of course is awesome with excellent sound system. The place gets pretty packed and therefore not much dancing room. boo.... I would recommend parking at the parking structure diagonal from the club with a big ENTER sign. It's $15 for the whole night and it's seriously like 6 stores down. Don't have to worry bout finding parking 10 blocks away on the streets. I can't wait to go back for some Kaskade and Benny Benassi!! Most importantly, when are they bringing back TIESTO?!! ps. like what most rateclubers tell you, this place is all bout the electronica music. So if you aren't a big fan, please don't show up and complain about the choice of music!
by Birdie Jasper on We've got a friend that loves this place, much to my chagrin because it means that I've got to attend at least one event a year here. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy slicing and dicing a rug as much as the next guy but the dancefloor at Phoenix Landing is akin to a rugby scrum. Trying to carve out even a 1/2 a foot to dance in is beyond an exercise in patience. If Right Said Fred and his frickin' floozy banged into me one more time while demonstrating an elaborately choreographed dry-hump that they would probably describe as "workin' it", this normally mild-mannered dude was contemplating going all "HULK SMASH!" on their silly asses.
