I didn't know it was such a thing... silly CRAZY.  It was like burning man. I was in a dome, watching a projection of the northern lights, listening to thumping bass outside.  Then had some fun watching spaced-out hula hoopers stand in front of a bored looking DJ using his two boring CDJ's.  Then, while talking to a penguin, I did a mess of hands on experiments before listening to someone drone on about something they found amusing and important. It's more like the burn that I ever would have imagined - wasted people and all.  Take it for what it is, but it reminded me of why I am sort of over both at this point. Best building ever, best museum... I love it. Rainforest and Planetarium are closed tho.... so be aware.  Drinks are $10 a pop or so too. (flask it).  Didn't pay for tix, or it would have been 3 stars.  I just cannot be rude to the museum or it's staff, even if the clientele is as interesting as watching wallpaper peel off walls. That might not be fair, because if you have been in the right mixture of decay and humidity, watching wallpaper peel off walls is actually sort of exciting and disgusting at the same time.  The sweet sickly vapor of entropy stunning wallpaper off it's fixed mount and into the air, falling like a suicide into the night. So yeah.... the people there seemed boring.  Happy pawns waddling through their mechanistic lives like robots.  So yeah... apparently it's existentialist review day.

I went here for my friend's birthday party (her boyfriend's friend owns 222 Hyde) on a Thursday night. It's a really great spot given the sort of sketchy location, I wouldn't have gone in here otherwise. I love the exposed brick, and the downstairs dance/lounge area is a good size and has clean, accessible bathrooms. The sound system here is also really amazing, and the DJ set up is nice. It makes for a fun, intimate environment. However, I will say that they need to update their rateclub advertisement for happy hour. The special on rateclub reads: "$8 Pizza and Draft Beer Combo for Happy Hour 5-9 PM Tuesday - Saturday!" which is a little bit of false advertising. I ordered 2 pizzas and expected to get them both for $8 plus 2 free beers. After ordering, I was told that the only kind of beer I could get on draft was budweiser. Meh, but okay, I'll give that to them. I was then charged full price for the pizzas because the bartender didn't tell me that the $8 special ONLY applies to a plain cheese pizza. Which isn't even on the chalkboard menu. There is nothing on their website or rateclub that gives this detail... it was only an extra $2 so I didn't make a huge deal out of it, but I was a little annoyed. The only other reason that this place loses 1 star is because it charges $6 for a beer. Come on. In the tenderloin I expect to pay a little less ... but it was fine because I was in good company :)
