On a Saturday night with endless choices of places to go to, Rouge would have been at the bottom of the list. But hey, if you can get in for free, why not? So I went here last night with a couple of my friends and wanted to celebrate my birthday. Someone suggested Rouge if I was in the mood to dance. Alright, sounds good. We get there and parking was already a bitch but we managed to find a parking lot on Polk and Pacific. We get there and immediately you are greeted by sleazy guys and girls in impossibly tight and short dresses. I swear throughout the night I almost had a couple glimpses of things that should not be seen in public. We get inside and the place is packed, but there's still room to breathe and walk around. Head over to the bar and it took maybe 5 minutes of waiting to finally flag down a bartender and another 5 minutes to actually get the drink. Also, while I was waiting there were 3 different couples hooking up right next to me. One couple was just full on making out on the bar stool. Cool. Didn't really need to see that show. So I finally get my drink, which was an AMF and later on a Long Island Iced Tea courtesy of my friends whose mission it was to get me severely intoxicated, which is what I needed to be at that point being at that place. It was the only way I could tolerate being there. So now I can relax and just dance. Well, I couldn't dance because the music was your run of the mill top 40 hip hop hits. Some songs I remember from high school and there were others that just made me say, "What the fuck?" And the transitions between songs were HORRIBLE. Was it the DJs first time? All I heard was one song and then amateurish dj scratches and then it immediately cut to the next song. I'm not a dj myself, but I'm pretty sure DJ 101 would've taught you a better way to move onto the next song. After that everything was pretty much a blur and I was ready to head out to another place. Thank god I didn't have to pay for a thing. But it was definitely an experience and definitely taught me about what nightclubs I shouldn't go to.

I hate you, Infusion Lounge! We arrive at the front of the line as a group of 5 girls and 6 guys. The bouncer stops my friend, tells him to exit the line, and to either 1) phone a girl friend or 2) go seek out a random girl to accompany him into the club. Uh, are you serious? Shouldn't be a problem since we're only blocks away from the Tenderloin district, right? This is the first time I've seen a club enforce a 1:1 ratio at the entrance. So, GUYS, if you're there with a group of dudes, hook up with the nearest group of gals you can find! Oh, and be sure to link arms as a pair, you'll move through the line a whole lot faster! Other things to consider: - Cover charge is $10, even if you're on the guest list. If not, it's $20. Even at $10, it's not worth it. - Shots are tiny! Smaller than most places. 2 pony shots of Patron for $22. - Drunk? Discombobulated? Impaired balance? Keep it together, as best you can! Or else security will detain and house you in a shady room somewhere in the back where no one can find you. There, you'll get your very own barf bucket and a blue stamp on your wrist that says "COMPLETED". Still not sure what that means exactly... - Itty bitty dance floor but a huge reserved area for bottle service. When I was here on a Saturday night, all the tables were empty. What a waste of space! - Absolutely no place to sit, unless you pay the extra $$$. - The co-ed bathrooms are clean. The music is not bad. Those are the two positive things I can say about this club. Infusion Lounge? NEXT...
