Does anyone else know about this place? No? Ok good. Ugh, if only that were true. When you find such a cool place you want to keep it to yourself for as long as possible and that is most definitely the case with bOb Bar. AMAZING hip-hop DJ? Check. Good drinks? Check. People that actually wanna dance? CHECK. Bouncer that isn't a certified asshole? Check. $5 cover? Check. Ok, ok bOb Bar, I'm a fan. I've been hearing about this place for years and it is most definitely worth the hype. If you want to hear some good hip-hop, old-school and current then this is the place for you. I can honestly say I didn't sit down at all! Now, that's the mark of a good DJ when I'm vibing for the entire night. I'm sure the crowd there would agree as well. I only wish that bOb was a bit bigger. This place is always at full capacity, now imagine that when the entire establishment is about the size of a 1 bedroom apartment. However, I think that's what makes it so appealing but it does it make it hard to tell if patrons are trying to pass by or grind up on you. Fantastic staff and establishment. I'm gonna be selfish and not tell anyone about it. Hmm, that would make this review extremely ironic.

I've been to Webster Hall for various live concerts and to go to the Friday night parties (Trash and the Girls and Boys parties).  There are 3 floors, each of which will generally have its own party, and no one will give you a hard time if you want to scope out the other floors. As far as a venue for concerts, it's not great but it's not terrible either.  Tickets are moderately priced.  The acoustics for live music there have never amazed me.  I've had to deal with my fair share of rude bartenders and overpriced, weak drinks in itty bitty plastic cups though. As for the Friday night parties, they can be a lot of fun.  Be sure to RSVP in advance though, as admission can be pricey.  With that said, I could never justify paying full price to get into Webster Hall.  The drinks are overpriced for what you're getting ($10 for "Nikolay" well vodka, you must be kidding) so I would suggest pre-gaming in the area at one of the many dive bars (try not to argue with the underage NYU students along the way).    On the plus side: the Girls and Boys parties always manage to attract a fun crowd, everyone is dancing and having a good time, and they've been able to book some big name DJs lately.  It's been packed the past few weeks.  My friends and I have had to ward off some of the Bridge and Tunnel crew that meanders upstairs (think: sketchy guys).  But for the most part, on Friday nights, you'll see a prevalence of American Apparel, neon hi-top sneakers, and shutter shades.  Another definite advantage: you don't have to wait too long in line for the bathroom and it's not absolutely vile.
