by K D. on Meh - went here to support my sister's boyfriend's DJ friend/coworker. Once we got inside, the venue itself was okay. They had sofas in the outdoor patio area that you can lounge in - how clean they were, I'm not sure - it was too dark to tell. It's nice to be able to sit without having to pay ridiculous amount of $$ for bottle service. It was the smoking area too though - so if you don't like the smell of smoke, not a good place to hang out. Getting inside was the annoying part. Of course there had to be a I-think-I'm-Somebody-Because-I-Have-A-Clipboard Witch by the door who like to think they're hot stuff because they can control who goes in and out. Needless to say, she was unbelievably rude. The one star this place get is for the two nice bouncers who actually didn't have an attitude and who realized we got there before everyone else did and should have gotten inside with no problem. by Silvia K. on Upstairs Hip Hop floor: Seriously, you're packed in there like a sardine can. And all you can see is a sea of Asians. Downstairs House floor: The moment I walked in, I spotted a handful of awkward white men trying to dance. I wanted to walk out with a quickness, but had to stay for a friend who likes house O_o The only highlight of the night was meeting a very fresh chap who also shared the same love I have for Oakland. That's it. I would never come back here unless they break down the walls and extend the hip hop floor to an actual dance floor. Warning: Roe bouncers hold up the line to get most of the folks on the guest list to pay. I highly suggest you get there early, like 9:30pm, if you want to get in for free. But hey, economy is down so they gotta get some revenue some way.
