by Porter Asmar on well, this place has seen better days but that is only because the neighborhood is still super sketchy. so, the hotel itself is fine, clean and super basic. The lady and gentleman who helped me thanksgiving week were darlings and didn't charge me when i said i had to bail on my four night reservation... I didn't mind the hotel but my mom was with me and well, let's just say she's a fairmont kinda lady so- phoenix was a bit too basic for her. I will say that Luke at the front desk has great taste in music and called me to return my mom's hand held poker game when we took off in a rush- adore. so overall- great service and great for the "younger set"...
by Deb B. on We stopped into Blake's before the Soapbox races Saturday. I haven't been in a hundred years I thought before I got there, but it's the same place. Daylight hours are the only times I would venture in as a real woman. This is a man's bars and should always be treated as one. I do remember the days of going in there at night and fighting the men to get a drink. I was starving, so we got the slider's plate. It was actually very good! Everyone was nice as usual. Maybe nicer (we had beautiful men with us! heehee)! Blake's is a great watering hole, right at the park. If you want to cruise beautiful men, or just look at them, this is the place!
by Brenton Eastlund on I absolutely love STK. The location is great, the ambiance inside of the restaurant is great, the food is great... everything is fantastic. I felt that the service was very good, but the real highlight was the food (as it very well should be at a restaurant!). If you're looking for a great night out, stop by STK for dinner and maybe a drink or two.
