by Deb B. on We stopped into Blake's before the Soapbox races Saturday. I haven't been in a hundred years I thought before I got there, but it's the same place. Daylight hours are the only times I would venture in as a real woman. This is a man's bars and should always be treated as one. I do remember the days of going in there at night and fighting the men to get a drink. I was starving, so we got the slider's plate. It was actually very good! Everyone was nice as usual. Maybe nicer (we had beautiful men with us! heehee)! Blake's is a great watering hole, right at the park. If you want to cruise beautiful men, or just look at them, this is the place!
by Zina Sames on Last night was my first time at the Dragonfly.. Apparently this place is pretty popular on a Monday night, but this particular Monday was special. My friend told me they opened up all of the rooms as well as the back alley to make space for multiple live artists, tattoo artists, djs and a band. When I got there the place was filled with people, yet there was somehow enough room to move around and occasionally dance. There were even a bunch of people selling fresh tacos (score!). The music was good, the drinks were strong and the art was impressive (check the pictures for some pieces). I could see myself coming back here one day.. perhaps when they have another special night like last night. Oh and no dress code or bullshit rules like those other faux lounges *cough* downtown Fullerton *cough* Recommendations: Come earlier than 10 to avoid the $5 cover Warnings: Gotta find scarce parking in the residential area.. but no biggie
by Kenyatta Pascual on I like the outside bar here. Warm, friendly, a lot of upscale crowd. Very few women. But who's complaining at a gay club? My friend won 3rd place In a best bootie contest and got drinks bought for him all night.The drag shows are supposed to be pretty cool here. If you are into the gay scene and don't want to compete with 18 year old teenybopper boys, check it out. Ive heard this is a hangout for the business people and politician types. And its far enough away from the 4th street scene to have a very different vibe from oilcans and rain.
