by Kelly P. on delicious! so glad a coworker shared this place with me. i can't wait to bring more friends here and get the center city dwellers to get over the shock of going north of Girard ;) excellent sweet plantains and black beans. tried the mango margarita (too salty for me), and the red sangria (much better; sweet and filled with cut up fruit).
by Mei Ling L. on I try to order sashimi when I come to this restaurant, because the fish is very fresh and flavorful, however, when I order things that I am unfamiliar with from their specials menu, I am confident that I will always get the best quality. It is a bit pricey, but it is worth every penny! Just give it a try!
by Oma Okerblom on We checked Iguana out for dinner tonight.. my thoughts? 1. Loud! As soon as we walked in, the noise level was so apparent that I thought about leaving. I AM, however, a Mexican food FAN so we had to suck it up, at least until after I tried their guacomole. 2. Good space, lots of room and tables actually have breathing room surrounding them. 3. Decor is a bit cheezy with dark lighting and neon lights sporatically positioned but not too distracting. I recommend the guac if you're in the area and have a hankering for it. It's reasonably priced at $10 vs. the $12-16 anywhere else. The chips are the standard tri colored restaurant chips you get at any mid level mexican joint.. We ordered a bunch of appetizers so I can only comment on those. The crab cake quesadilla is good but heavy with lots of cheese.. and I thought the chicken toquitos could have been better since they were so oily. All in all, I'm not sure if I would drop by just for the guac and drinks again. At night, there's a happening club downstairs that plays a good variety of music.
