As a bachelor who has had his run for a good three years now doing it up at the very best nightlife establishments in LA, NYC, elsewhere, I've come to develop a sense for what I want out of a club/lounge experience. -No girls allowed, fellas only, but not too many because then it just gets absurd costly and prohibitive access-wise as no promoter or  club GM wants a group of 6+ sausages hogging a table (way too predatory and pig-like).  If you have females in the group understand that in all but a few cases, they don't like to engage other stranger girls out in public.  Why?  Women treat their nights out in da club like Usain Bolt treats his feet right before a 100M dash.  It's serious competition for validation and a mad rush to relieve themselves of certain insecurities.  Why the heck do you think they get their hair done, nail done, everything big for the sake of flaunting it for maybe 2 hours + in the dark? -Strategic table placement: You want to be in a location where you can see and be seen because the girls who you're going to ultimately invite to drink with you want this, too. -Rump shaking hip-hop: Techno is fine to start off the night at 10:30PM-11PM when everyone is still relatively sober and settling into the venue.  Once the Goose starts to kick in, natural human instincts prevail in the sexually charged atmosphere so it's time to get loose.  Techno is like playing tennis all night.  Hip-hop is backing up in the low post. I"ve been looking for an S-Bar style replacement gallivanting, call it traipsing through WEHO, up and down Sunset Blvd, pushing my way all the way towards the edge near the W Hotel to little to no avail.  Trousdale is painted with a dark brush minimalist in its design.  Clubs do not have to be ornate or gimmicky to have fun.  This is more lounge than DJ dance flo' where you can have a meaningful conversation about everything except your career, friends, family, hopes and dreams.  That'd defeat the Hollywood purpose.  You're supposed to act.  You're supposed to play your part. The crowd was nice on the Saturday night I was there with a group of friends.  The security muscle assignment was a nice touch which is not all that uncommon at the $400+ per bottle venues where it's not really necessary.  They played techno all night so I drowned it out the best I can with wit and humor.  Numerous ladies commented that they wanted some of that Ice Cube, S N double O P, drop it like it's hot! If I lived in LA, Trousdale would be one of the spots I'd look to develop a relationship with especially with the general manager and this one really compact, antithesis of boring, old guy with funky glasses and an even funkier wardrobe.  Else ask for Michelle or Grace. Bring friends and your energy and your dough.  It's going to be a strong night at the Trous.

We somewhat stumbled upon Bruno's while we were waiting to get seated at Cha Cha Cha's. Our party organizer told us that our dinner started at 8:30 when in fact it started at 9:15 so we all went to Bruno's to get a couple of drinks before dinner. It actually worked out perfect b/c a group of us got stamps and didn't have to pay a cover charge.  We went on a Friday night so Happy Hour is ALL NIGHT LONG! Now, who can beat that? Overall Good Times!

dbar was a fun spot for the night - "It's Britney Bitch" CD release party.... and the added bonus of being a short walk to my house... OH... and they're open until 2am... the latest bar open around me (leave it to the gays to have pumping music, dance floor, eye candy, AND stay open the latest to serve up tasty bevies). drinks were reasonably priced, and service was nice and swift.
