Just wanted to weigh in on the topic of changes in this bar.
Pete's used to be frequented by the neighborhood crowd who were just interested in somewhere to chat with there friends & be able to have a drink with out the kids bugging them.
Our interests were pretty much like any other neighborhood watering hole for that time (God I am feeling so ancient right, you needed to go to the "city" or somewhere closer to it at least.
Then something happend to our culture. The onslaught of Electronics. Along with that, our children got older & also had money to spend & for some unknown reason were more discerning in their tastes, so came along newer & better drinks ( tho you\ll NEVER hear me say that Yeager Meister is anything but gasoline in a bottle! ugh!!) and then came along another thing that is still taking getting used to ,at least for me. KAREOKE. (sp) Bars were NOT the same. And our kids who were fast becoming "legal" had much more say in how they were entertained even while, much to my distress, at MY bar! Okay. Kareoke is here to stay. the music on the juke box (yeah there's an oldie but goodie for ya.), had titles I had never heard before by strange & scary names like "garbage" & "fuel". My point here is everything changes & not always for the better. I give anyone credit for even attempting to make a living in such a tough market.
Kudos for not only trying but clearly succeeding in spite of all the negativity that so obviously has manifested itself in then guise of "helpful" feedback.
At the end of the day, if one doesn't like the atmosphere albeit here or ANYWHERE they are spending their own money..they have the option to just...not go. To you nay sayers.. PLEASE.. just do that.
Cheers

I love whiskey pete's. It's one of the better bars in port huron. The dj top gun tim rocks! I hate it when bands play there... there just is'nt enough room plus tim's a lot better! As far as the bartenders go smurf is the best! She's so sweet and respects her customers. Jewels is awesome too. But as far as this new girl (T) she isnt so respective twords her customers let alone herself. But the over all score I give Pete's is a 4. Get rid of (T) and it will be a 5!

I happen to think that whiskey pete's is a great place for family and friends. With the new owners there's less drama and no bullshit is taken. with this, this helps people enjoy a more relaxing atmosphere. and anyone that has a damn problem with whiskey petes... just stay away. and as far as what port huron critic has to say... i fully agree with every word.

Whiskey Petes is a nice place to go as long as you go during the night hours where the bar tenders have more respect for them selves. I have been in there on a few occasions during the day while the bar tender (we will call her t) has lifted her top to get bigger tips and when that fails she will serve a beer or a mix drink and instead of it going in the till it goes in her tip jug! Get a life girl!

new customer with a new home:I found Whiskey Pete's to be great little bar with a HUGE personality. The D.J. ROCKS and has a wide variety of music to please just about anyone.
and actually comes out and asks customers what their requests (if any) are.He is very polite and looks out for everyone in the bar.
I feel safe and relaxed knowing that. The night time bar tenders rock also, great personalities and kindness to match. The daytime bartenders need better business and
morals skills,if i want to see bare tits I\'ll
go to Bisco\'s for that.(anything to get a tip
i guess, hey honey Da Ja vu is hiring)I haven't seen or heard of any drugs in this bar so don't believe the rumors. This obviously is not a biker bar as so claimed.
this is a people's bar where everyone is part of an extended family.Like is said by the D.J.(once you come to Whiskey Pete's you're
no longer a stranger you're part of the family.AWESOME JOB STAFF KEEP IT UP!

In regards to the coward who did not leave their name, I happen to frequent the above stated establishment and enjoy the new astmoshere. Bikers are still welcome and do frequent this establishment ,most of them are respected members of the community. As for the accusations on drugs, these are unfounded rumors that are created by people like you that probably are no longer permitted in the establishment. Furthermore the business seems to be doing quite well without people like you...and guess what your address is availble for coment as well!!!! Looking forward to your next round of slander.

Whiskey Pete's used to be a great place for family and friends in kind up until about four years ago. Since the sale of the establishment there has been a steady decline in the atmosphere. Some changes that were made to the property were very positive and productive, however the element of the custmers has changed. Unfortunately all of us "Good old boys & gals" that were a welcome part of the atmosphere have been replaced with the declining youth and trouble-makers. What used to be a great down home bar full of the spirit of the american biker has been replaced by a bunch of hip hop crack headed rollers. I find it unfortnate that this place that many of us used to call home has been destroyed by the wacky owner who has managed to run off all of her loyal customers because she is desparate to fit in with todays youth and revels that they look up to her while they kiss her ass and provide her with the free drugs that she is completely strung out on. Very sad and unfortunate. It would be great if she sold to a decent buyer who could reclaim the nostalgic atmosphere that once existed there.
