by Alyssa J. on If you like waiting in lines and cover charges then you are going to have an awesome time before you even walk through the door! Everything about the Middlesex is a little...off. It's called a lounge, but it's basically a big room with some couches in the corners. My friend and I went early to avoid the cover, but still were charged. We were charged $5 but I have been there when the cover is as high as $20. Since we were there early we were able to grab a seat on the couches. Sitting there reminded me of a high school dance. Everyone was backed up against the walls, staring at their feet... At ten o'clcok the place got packed and the entire vibe changed. The high school dance became a college dance party. Middlesex gets 1 star for it's 9pm atmosphere and 5 stars for the 10:30pm atmosphere.
by Isaiah Donati on I'm not a big club-goer but I've come here on occasion since I know the bartender. Nice atmosphere, unique events, and plenty of dancing for the spirited. Always sleazeballs attempting to pick off stragglers at the end, but if you're here for a good time and nothing else, Highlands is a great place to let loose. Extremely easy parking too.
by Cornell Cintron on We show up at Vertigo on random Wednesday night with our Ipod and a group of about 15 people. Vertigo people let us plug in Ipod, play all our own music (including Madonna, Britney, etc.) without ever complaining. Vertigo people say nothing when we turn dance floor into a cross between Dance Party USA and Mitchell Brothers. Vertigo people never tell us to get off podium where we like to perform, stop standing on benches, or turn down music. Basically, it was like being at home, with someone to make you drinks, more space (and podiums) to dance, and no neighbors to complain about the loud music. What more could a girl ask for?
