by Andrew Y. on I've never had dinner here. Only for the shows on weekends. and MAN, they are awesome. I am very picky most of the time when it comes to entertainment. When I laugh, it means you should be most probably gasping for air while tearing for laughter. When I cry, it probably means you should have ran out of tissue by now. And musicians in this place always make me CLAP. It could be just me, but I like the shows/musicians in Oakland Yoshi's better. But this place still features all the jazz. I have been coming here for years for that. Drinks are rather mediocre, and I don't dare to try out Japanese unless it shines authenticity - small places with Japanese chef/staff. How do they feature these musicians is just amazing. Every show is actually kinda short, but they feel shorter because time flies when they play good music. I am going again this weekend~
by Shawn B. on Holy Smokes! I LOVE THIS PLACE! My first time here I feel in love with design/atmosphere immediately. That night it was packed and we hadn't made a reservation. Luckily for us, we were able to sit at the bar right away. Our bartender was great. He made sure we got a drink we liked and made excellent recommendations for our dinner. What's even better, is when we returned almost a month later, he remembered us. That always gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. Anytime I have friends visiting from out of town or I just need an East Side fix, this is my go-to place. The food is great and the service good. I highly recommend making this a regular stop on your gastronomic quests!
