by Debbie B. on First time in SF......love it so much!!! been wanting to try fried green tomatoes forever....I got it here!!! it was served w/goat cheese (also a first)....Deeeeelicious!!!! I had to come all the way from the east coast to satisfy my eager taste buds!!! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves...this review is extremely long over due.....from 10/2009...sorry :) we had the southern fried chicken,yam fries w/mango ketchup,biscuits and savory flavored butter.....absolutely tasty everything and one more note my husband LOVES bread pudding....he rates it a 4....we'll be back in the area next month with a hearty appetite!!
by Harry Yuk on My first time at Velvet Margarita was on New Years eve.... No cover to guest list just had to show our IDs and we were in... The decor is amazing the tiles on the floor have the Mexican bingo pictures which was pretty interesting... the bartenders are friendly and make amazing drinks... best new years ever! try it out its a cool place to go before you hit up another bar or club... enjoy!
by Edmundo Ekberg on Used to go a lot when Miss Kitty had her nights. Always alternative and pretty dirty, but hey, it's a new experience, right? As a clean-cut Southern gal this was a whole new world to me. I have to say even with all the glitter, eyeliner, crazy live performances and over-the-top outfits the kids were always out dancing their hearts out to some great music. No "I'm too cool for you" attitudes here. The drinks, while a bit expensive, were always strong. Would I go there now? No. It's not my scene. But it is definitely a scene if you are looking for one -- just be prepared to be a little dirty. (and that's in all respects)
