Before this place got overcrowded--this place was actually really enjoyable and relaxing. It was a place that my friend and I happened to walk past several summers ago after being lured onto the boat by one friendly dog accompanying his owner/FP patron. At that time, we felt like we were the only ones there since we shared the boat with only a handful other guests. It was by far, one of the most relaxed Sundays I had ever had in a long while and we left only after the sun had set. Nowadays, it's still a great escape--but be VERY mindful of not going on a weekend. Better to go when it's a random day of the week if you're a visitor or just before/after the summer time. Food wise, it's not the greatest but it's not too bad either. They have a menu selection and their basic hotdogs/burgers are decent. Of course they also have a bar, so if you are spending the day or a couple of hours there--get yourself a pitcher of beer/sangria and enjoy yourself :)

So after reading mixed reviews about this place it safe to say that bordellos is a tacky vintage  bar with horrible drinks. My friends and I went on a Saturday night under the impression that it was burlesque night but boy were we wrong it was actually Spanish rock night. The furniture is falling apart and broken not to mention it also has gum stuck on it. A friend of mine sat down on one the vintage style chairs only to find out she now has gum all over her pants and purse! We paid $10 for valet $10 each at the door so total we paid $50! $50 dollars so my friend can get her purse and clothing ruined with gum and listen to crappy Spanish rock. We left after being there less than 2 hrs. We gave it a chance but i would not recommend this place to anyone, but if you still decide to go make sure you're not wearing anything expensive as it may be ruined once you sit down at bordellos. And not to mention the bathrooms are dirty and dingy with graffiti and paint peeling off.

Someone told me Gene Simmons owns this place. I don't know if that's true or not but with the amount of money he has you'd think he'd have a decent venue for music. If he wasn't so busy banging a thousand women a day and trying to put a buck on new KISS memorabilia I'm sure this place would be kick-ass. On a good night you can easily find street parking. Fridays and weekends forget about it! Valet charges $10 up the ass for parking. Once you walk inside the venues pretty spacious. You have a bar to the side, booths along the wall and long tables to set your drink down if your standing. The stage on the other hand is the pour-est excuse for a stage. I've seen plenty of musicians jump up and down on this thing and once this happens the whole band jumps up and down as well. Not because they want to but because the stage is like one giant trampoline. I'm surprised no ones fallen through it. I hope I'm there to see someone eventually do that :) If the band doesn't tickle your fancy take yourself outside to the back patio. But fair warning, if you didn't like what you saw inside you won't like what you see outside. They have a tiny stage for acoustic shows and not even from great performers. Are these homeless people pulled off from the street or what?!? In conclusion, the Dragonfly is not a bad venue, it's not a good venue either. It's just a decent place to go and check out live music. I just hope you don't go on a night that doesn't suck. Good luck with that.
