i did not have dinner there, however my friends did for our friend's 40th bday (saturday night). we went to the bar side after they finished dinner for drinks and dancing. the club/patio they have back there is packed way beyond capacity. i'm almost positive its a fire code violation.  anyway, the drinks are expensive, you can't move or really dance unless you're really drunk and don't give a sh*t who you bump or push while dancing and everyone there seem like the were college aged or even underage. the only reason i'm posting is the valet service. everyone had to wait about 45 mins to an hour for their car. there was no rhyme or reason how/when a person would get a car. you can be waiting 25 mins, and someone would walk out and they would get their car 10 mins. later. the valet guys seem clueless. people waiting would give up and go back in because its freezing cold and there was only 1 heat lamp, so then their car would be unclaimed. the valet guys would stand there for 10 mins waiting for someone when they could pull the car to the side, lock the door and give the key to the guy manning the booth to get another car. at one point 3 valet guys were standing around waiting for an owner to claim their car with one car blocking the exit. everyone knows in LA, valet is the norm, i do not understand how a restaurant of this "caliber" with Mina and SBE's name attached be this bad. I definitely will not go here to eat because I wouldn't want to have to wait 1an hour to get my car.

I attended an event at Mer (the downstairs floor of Terra) and was extremely disappointed by two aspects of the evening. The first was that the venue told our planners that it would be open bar beer and wine and one specialty cocktail.  The specialty cocktail turned out to be premixed into pitchers somewhere out of the guests' sights and tasted so sugary that a large group of us (including people who normally enjoy sweeter drinks) decided to rename it "diabetes in a cup".  There was no alcohol flavor in this mixed drink and they did not have a real bar available to rectify this situation. I was one of almost 200 guests and we each paid this venue and it's contractors quite a large sum of money to have this event here so like any other consumer/customer we wanted to get our money's worth and our only option was wine.  Anyone who has some experience with drinking wine knows it's not a good idea to have too much. The second disappointment of the evening was the extreme rudeness and low caliber of the bouncers who were hired through Mer to staff our event.  As soon as the clock struck midnight the bouncers took on fiercely rude tones and started to treat us like unworthy cattle.  I have experienced rude bouncers before but this kind of rudeness was at a very high distasteful level of disrespect.   Especially at a private event where the only reason anyone hired that night is getting paid is because the guests are paying the staff. This venue has gotten good reviews so I'm surprised we had such a bad experience.  My advice is if you do rent this place out, consider bringing your own bar and security people if you don't want to to have bad tasting drinks and be treated like second class citizens by the bouncers.

I've decided that the staff at Temple pour a good drink. Their bloody marys are spicy and strong, their greyhounds are tall & tasty, and their ginger ale? Oh wait...that's non-alcoholic...in any case, their ginger ale is...bubbly. It's never super crowded in there, which makes it easier for those of us that travel w/ an entourage to find a table that will house the masses. The appetizers are quick & yummy, and most of the people that frequent the place are of the non-irritating persuasion. Occasionally the music is a bit too loud, but otherwise, I give 2 thumbs up. And the fact that it's right around the corner from my office doesn't hurt either. :)
