He was 4 months away from being a doctor and believe me he was not the kind of person to start fights. According to newspapers the owner had "no comment". Really? Not even a quick "my thoughts go out to his family" Have they even asked the family if they need help with funeral costs? Will never go to this club ever again! RIP Dr. Hernandez
by Larry T. on I'm pretty sure Ear Inn is the oldest bar still around in NYC. I love how the ceiling is crooked and sloped down, it feels like you might see a Hobbit at the bar. Some of the regulars do look a bit Hobbity actually. It's a great place to get a decent burger and beer for lunch too.
by Stacy Musca on A gorgeous supper-club style venue in North Beach run by the same family since 1931, it's very Rat Pack. Creative bookings of all musical genres. They have terrific bathroom attendants, swanky acres of red velvet, and the legendary babe swimming in the fish tank behind the bar. A bit expensive, but worth it for the cool vibe. I went here for an SF International Film Festival party. And the Chris Isaak show on Showtime filmed here, or at least used it as a setting.
