by Sus.annah B. on Went here last Friday for Death Guild [edit 6/1 - could have been Meat, per several people they don't do Death Guild here anymore...], a bit different than my usual routine but I needed a change from the norm anyway. I'm not a big club person, and a big part of it is because most of the ones I've been to tend to a) not have enough nooks and crannies, b) be so loud you need earplugs, c) have assholes with overinflated egos for staff, d) overpriced drinks with understaffed bars, or e) one or more of the above. This place, I like. It has an upstairs with a couple of couches (which is where the kitchen is - didn't try anything but it smelled yummalicious), which satisfied nooks & crannies. The place was loud, but you could still hear what people were saying for the most part, and staff was pretty chill. Drinks were a little more than I'd prefer ($7 for a vodka soda), but certainly not outrageous for a club, and service was good. When we left sometime around 3am, the event showed no signs of stopping - we would have stayed too if we were able to enhance the experience of the techno-ish goth music by some fashion or other, but we needed food anyway. ************************************* Update 5/8: Went here again recently - the steak quesadillas are drunkenly delicious!
by Retha Parreno on How i miss tex-mex. Mexican martinis and portabella fajitas are my favorites at Trudy's. The Sangrita (sangria swirled with frozen margarita) is another delicious, slightly less potent drink choice. Trudy's breakfast is delicious also. This is my favorite tex-mex restaurant.
