by Michael W. on Maybe I'm just not a big fan of bowling alleys, because despite the fact that I usually have fun, I never actually enjoy the venue. It's nice that they have screens with ballgames at the pin-end of the alleys, but the ball return machine broke while I was there. Really, nothing above and beyond any other alley 2 stars for mediocrity Revisit? Maybe?
by Scarlett Newingham on I tried not to hype myself up about Morimoto. After finally getting myself downtown for a dinner, I had the $100 omakase tasting menu (there is an $80 and a $120 version, which the waiter told me was not more or less, just more or less of a varied experience), and my dinner date had the kobe beef and lobster a.k.a. morimoto surf and turf. To keep it short, I loved the toro tar tar and the rest of the appetizers. The lamb was perfectly cooked and flavorful, which was a surprise because I'm just not a lamb guy. I was pretty disappointed with the nigiri sushi. It was not that great for me. The dessert, which I believe was made with taro, was just OK. I was definitely full after all those courses. I would come back here again, but will probably order a regular entree. My date enjoyed the Kobe beef and lobster which was cooked to perfection. That entree was about $45 which was less than I thought it would be. That and an appetizer was more than enough food, unless you wanted to stuff yourself silly. I thought the decor was interesting, it kind of reminded me of a NYC midtown lounge, but that light in the middle of the table bugged me.
